#601 Pattern — Tier 1

The absolute best M9 Bayonet Blue Gem pattern is easily number #601. This pattern’s playside is approximately 86.2% blue, which is the highest you can get. This makes pattern #601 the number one pattern.

However, the backside doesn’t feature too much blue, and is mostly golden. 

#288 Pattern — Tier 2

Another solid Tier 2 M9 Bayonet Blue Gem option is pattern #288, which is 49% blue on its playside. 

Though the blade is only half blue, you can bet the blue is going to the right place. Pattern #288 features a full blue top half, including the tip. Then, the bottom half is completely golden. It really looks like a clean fifty-fifty split – just like yin and yang. 

The backside of pattern #288 is also pretty solid, with a completely blue tip. This is definitely one of the best Tier 2 M9 Bayonet Case Hardened patterns available.

#243 Pattern — Tier 3 

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly alternative, Tier 3 M9 Blue Gems could be a good fit. We recommend pattern #243, which actually has a slightly higher blue percentage than the previous Tier 2 Blue Gems we mentioned earlier at 50.69%.

The blue placement on pattern #243 is exceptional – the top half of the blade is almost entirely blue except for two golden dots, which is extremely good for a Tier 3 ranking. 

The backside also has a high blue percentage at 44.83% and also has a very nice blue tip. 

#88 Pattern — Tier 3

Another Tier 3 recommendation is the M9 Bayonet Case Hardened pattern #88. This one’s playside is 51.02% blue, which is a pretty solid number for a Tier 3.

Pattern #88 has a completely blue tip, which is something collectors always look for. However, there is a noticeable gold section that separates the tip from the rest of the blue, which doesn’t look too appealing to most people. 

The good news is that pattern #88 has a strong backside, which is 59.21% blue. The bottom half of the backside is completely blue. 

#209 Pattern — Tier 4 

If you’re just starting out with collecting Blue Gems, a Tier 4 M9 Bayonet Blue Gem could be a good starting point. If that’s what you’re looking for, keep an eye on pattern #209. 

Pattern #209 has a very low blue playside percentage at only 34.99%, but all of the blue is at the top of the knife, giving it a very clean blue tip.

However, the main selling point of pattern #209 is its backside, which is 69.35% blue. If you want a Blue Gem M9 Bayonet with a decent playside and a strong backside, pattern #209 is a great choice. 

#759 Pattern — Tier 4

Finally, we’ll recommend pattern #759, which is also a Tier 4 Blue Gem. This pattern is 44.01% blue, which is really good for a Tier 4 Blue Gem.

On its playside, pattern #759 has a really nice blue tip, but the rest of the blue isn’t really going to the right places. The backside is really decent though, as it’s 66.58% blue with a blue tip, too.
