The History of the XM1014 | Grassland in CS2 (CS:GO)

The XM1014 | Grassland was designed by the Valve art team and released as part of The 2018 Dust 2 Collection in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Its military-inspired tan-and-green finish quickly made it a favorite among players seeking a tactical edge. The skin first appeared in CS:GO on October 10, 2014, coinciding with the introduction of community map collections. It gradually rose to minor prominence during CS:GO Majors, particularly on map rotations that included Dust 2, where it was obtainable via drops. XM1014 | Grassland in CS2 (CS:GO) gained additional recognition during Operation Breakout, when players sought affordable and authentic skins for their loadouts, boosting its value among collectors. There was a community buzz around it whenever older map-themed collections had temporary return periods. With the transition to CS2, CS2 (CS:GO) XM1014 | Grassland maintained a loyal following, appreciated for its classic appeal and connection to the history of competitive Counter-Strike. Its continued presence in the game stands as a tribute to the timeless design choices that have shaped the franchise.

How Rare Is the XM1014 | Grassland?

The XM1014 | Grassland in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (light blue) skin, making its rarity relatively common compared to higher-tier finishes. The CS2 (CS:GO) XM1014 | Grassland can be obtained as a drop from the Dust 2 Collection, which is available through weekly drop pool rotations and occasionally from souvenir packages during events. Rarity of XM1014 | Grassland is moderate; while not exceedingly rare, its supply is limited by the map collection's availability. It does not appear in standard weapon cases, increasing its value during periods when Dust 2 Collection drops are disabled. The odds of unboxing this skin directly are only relevant to souvenir packages—however, it lacks a Souvenir variant, making regular market purchases the primary means of acquisition. Its popularity is average, largely due to affordability and its traditional military aesthetic, appealing to collectors who enjoy classic, minimal skins.

XM1014 | Grassland Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern Description:
The XM1014 | Grassland finish features a simple spray-paint style camouflage pattern with hues of khaki and green, reminiscent of arid landscapes.

Pattern Difference:
Since this skin utilizes a solid camo pattern, there is little visible difference between pattern index variations; all versions appear very similar.

Effect of Float:
The XM1014 | Grassland float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, which means this skin is available in all wear levels, from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. The finish shows visible abrasions more prominently as the float value increases, especially on the receiver and barrel.

Skin Features:
This is an Industrial Grade skin—affordable, utilitarian, and without flashy highlights.

XM1014 | Grassland Factory New:
In Factory New condition, the colors are vibrant and there are little to no scratches. This version carries the highest value (though still generally accessible), and is sought after by completionist collectors.

XM1014 | Grassland Minimal Wear:
Minimal Wear versions display slight abrasions along exposed edges. These small imperfections do not majorly detract from the overall look and are popular among budget-conscious players.

XM1014 | Grassland Field-Tested:
Field-Tested skins have increased wear, with more noticable discoloration and scratches, but the underlying camo remains clearly visible.

XM1014 | Grassland Well-Worn:
Well Worn versions show pronounced wear, with more extensive fading and scuffing, especially on the barrel and stock. Their value tends to be close to that of Field-Tested skins.

XM1014 | Grassland Battle Scarred:
In Battle-Scarred condition, much of the original finish is worn away, exhibiting heavy scratches and color fade. This is the lowest price tier and often purchased for trade-ups.

XM1014 | Grassland StatTrak:
This skin does not have a XM1014 | Grassland StatTrak variant, so stat-tracking capability is not available for this finish.

Overall, the XM1014 | Grassland finish offers a utilitarian aesthetic that wears down with use. The float value has a significant effect on abrasions and visual appearance, with only the Factory New and Minimal Wear variants retaining the fullest camo coloration.
