The History of the ★ Ursus Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Valve's CS:GO art team, specifically for the release of the Danger Zone Case in December 2018. Its Fade finish—characterized by a sleek gradient of purples, pinks, and yellows—echoes the iconic Fade patterns first made famous by other weapon and knife skins in CS:GO. The Ursus Knife’s distinctive tactical shape and absence of a traditional handle, paired with the Fade’s shimmering allure, made it an instant hit upon release. During the CS:GO Majors, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Ursus Knife | Fade surged in popularity as professional players began to showcase it in high-stakes matches, further boosting community hype. The skin’s original release sparked a wave of social media posts, with players sharing rare fades and spectacular pulls. With the transition to CS2, its reputation and premium status have only grown, cementing its place as one of the most sought-after knives in the Counter-Strike universe.

How Rare Is the ★ Ursus Knife | Fade?

The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert (red) knife skin—the highest non-souvenir rarity—making it an extremely rare pull from applicable cases. Specifically, you can unbox it from the Danger Zone Case and the Horizon Case, two popular but competitive weapon case drops. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Ursus Knife | Fade offers only a minuscule chance to obtain, typically less than 0.26% per case, much like other covert knives. While not removed from the drop pool, limited case supply and the skin’s ongoing popularity among traders and collectors keep availability and liquidity low. There is no Souvenir version of this skin, so all items are standard or StatTrak. Its eye-catching design and demand among both casual players and elite pros maintain a strong market, consistently making it one of the most sought-after knife skins in CS2.

★ Ursus Knife | Fade Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade finish features a brilliant gradient of metallic purple, pink, orange, and gold, covering the entire blade. The patterns can range between different fade percentages, affecting how much color appears on the edge and tip.

Pattern difference:
Although all Ursus Knife Fades look similar, the fade percentage (where the tip displays more or less gold/purple) can impact desirability and price. Some patterns, like 100% fade, are considered more valuable.

Effect of float:
The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.08, making it available in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions only. As a result, the visual difference between wear levels is subtle, and the finish remains intact even on higher float values.

Factory New: ★ Ursus Knife | Fade factory new offers the most pristine gradient and sharpness. Prices are highest for this condition, with bright, unmarred finishes and high collector demand.

Minimal Wear: ★ Ursus Knife | Fade minimal wear shows minimal loss of color vibrancy or finish; abrasions are subtle and typically unnoticed during gameplay. The price is slightly below Factory New and represents strong value.

Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred: The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade well worn, Field Tested, and Battle Scarred versions do not exist since the skin’s float range does not reach these wear levels.

StatTrak™ versions: The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade StatTrak versions are available in both Factory New and Minimal Wear. These track in-game kills and cost significantly more than their non-StatTrak counterparts, especially for high fade percentages.

Skin Features: With limited abrasion and a constant float cap, ★ Ursus Knife | Fade finish retains its aesthetic even in the lowest available condition, making it more attractive for high-end collectors.

★ Ursus Knife | Fade Price & Market Value

★ Ursus Knife | Fade price fluctuates based on condition, fade percentage, and StatTrak status. As of 2024, Factory New versions are sold between $700 and $1,000 USD on the Steam Community Market and third-party sites. Minimal Wear variants are slightly less expensive, with prices ranging from $600 to $900. StatTrak versions command a hefty premium, with StatTrak Factory New reaching up to $1,400 or more. There is no Souvenir version of this knife, so no pro signatures or event stickers influence price. Key factors include float value (closer to 0 for higher price), fade percentage (higher is better), and whether the item is StatTrak. The ★ Ursus Knife | Fade price is among the highest for Ursus knives due to its dazzling finish and community demand. How much is the ★ Ursus Knife | Fade? Expect to pay anywhere between $600 and $1,400 depending on specifics. Is ★ Ursus Knife | Fade worth buying? For collectors and fans of knife animations, it remains one of CS2’s most worthwhile investments.
