The History of the Tec-9 | Safety Net in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Tec-9 | Safety Net in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the renowned artist "Valve" in collaboration with the CS:GO community and was introduced as part of the 2018 FACEIT London Major—specifically in the 2018 Inferno Collection. Its appearance history traces back to that event, where it quickly received recognition for its bold netted design overlaying a bright orange frame, making it instantly memorable among pistol skins. During prominent CS:GO Majors, the skin gained momentum when professional players opted for it in crucial rounds, fueling hype and demand in the wider community. This surge was especially pronounced during trading events and case openings involving Major collections. As CS:GO evolved into CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Tec-9 | Safety Net seamlessly transitioned to the new engine, maintaining its place in many players' inventories due to its distinctive look and accessible price point. Its continued presence in competitive and casual play underscores its sustained popularity and collectible appeal within both the pro scene and the broader CS community.

How Rare Is the Tec-9 | Safety Net?

The Tec-9 | Safety Net in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Restricted rarity skin, making it an uncommon yet attainable drop in its respective collection. The CS2 (CS:GO) Tec-9 | Safety Net originates from the 2018 Inferno Collection, which was available through event drops, specifically during the 2018 FACEIT London Major. The rarity of Tec-9 | Safety Net is governed by its drop pool status—since the Major event concludes, its supply is now limited to marketplace trading and existing inventories, increasing its desirability among collectors. The probability of unboxing the Tec-9 | Safety Net was moderate when the collection was active, but with the end of tournament drops, its odds are now tied directly to market circulation. There is currently no Souvenir variant, further impacting overall rarity. Despite being out of active drop pools, its bold appearance and reasonable price keep it moderately popular among both new and seasoned players.
