The History of the Tec-9 | Cut Out in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Tec-9 | Cut Out in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by community artist OniLolz and added to the game on December 3, 2020, as part of the Operation Broken Fang Collection. Its unique, industrial-inspired cutout motif distinguished it from previous Tec-9 finishes and quickly captured the attention of both players and skin collectors. The skin started gaining traction during its appearance in match inventories at CS:GO Majors, which further fueled its popularity, especially when pros began using it in high-stakes tournaments. Community hype surged during Operation Broken Fang, with numerous players eager to unbox this eye-catching item. As the game transitioned from CS:GO to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Tec-9 | Cut Out retained its status as a sought-after cosmetic, thanks to its accessible price and visually appealing design. Today, it remains a memorable and widely recognized skin within the community.

How Rare Is the Tec-9 | Cut Out?

The Tec-9 | Cut Out in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Mil-Spec (blue) rarity skin, making it relatively common compared to higher-tier finishes. It is available as a drop from the Operation Broken Fang Case, which has since been discontinued, elevating its long-term rarity as new supply ceases to enter the market. The CS2 (CS:GO) Tec-9 | Cut Out is not available as a Souvenir version, making it slightly less collectible in that regard. While the probability of unboxing a Tec-9 | Cut Out is higher than more rare skins, its popularity remains strong due to frequent demand and accessible pricing. The removal from drop pools means existing inventory now determines supply, and, over time, this scarcity could gradually enhance the rarity of Tec-9 | Cut Out among CS2 (CS:GO) skins.

The minimal wear version retains most of its vibrancy but with slight edge abrasions, making it a budget-friendly yet visually striking choice.

Tec-9 | Cut Out Field-Tested:
Field-Tested skins display more wear, especially along the painted edges, but remain popular for casual use due to affordability.

Tec-9 | Cut Out Well Worn:
Visible scratches and faded areas define the well worn variant, offering a rugged look that appeals to certain collectors.

Tec-9 | Cut Out Battle Scarred:
The Battle Scarred version shows extensive fading and chipping, presenting the most distressed appearance and being the most affordable.
