The History of the ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel in CS2 (CS:GO)

The design of the ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel was created by the CS:GO weapon finish team at Valve, inspired by the real-life Damascus steel forging technique. This skin first appeared in CS:GO on March 13, 2019, as part of the "Prisma Case" release, and instantly caught the eye of players for its rippled, hand-crafted look.

The initial community reception was enthusiastic, as the survival knife was a new blade shape at the time. The ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel in CS2 (CS:GO) quickly gained traction, especially during prominent CS:GO Majors, where the knife was seen in the hands of notable professional players. As a result, community hype surged, and players sought after it for both its fresh aesthetics and its connection to pro play highlights.

With CS2's release, the knife's visual fidelity was elevated thanks to new lighting and rendering effects, making the Damascus pattern even more pronounced. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel remains a coveted item, reflecting both a history of innovation in skin design and enduring popularity within the CS community.

How Rare Is the ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel?

The rarity of ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as "Covert," making it one of the hardest knives to acquire through case openings. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel can be found in the "Prisma Case" and "Prisma 2 Case," but is no longer available in newer drop pools, increasing its scarcity and value.

It is estimated that the probability of unboxing a ★ Survival Knife | Damascus Steel rests at less than 0.26%, making each pull a thrilling, high-stakes gamble. There is currently no Souvenir version, so all available knives come directly from cases. The skin’s popularity is high due to its visual charm and limited supply, and the disappearing drop sources have made it an increasingly rare and treasured addition to any inventory.
