As one of the most recognizable and flashy knives, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened has established a strong presence in the inventories of both professional players and enthusiasts.
The skin's iconic look, coupled with its scarcity, has driven up its desirability, making it a status symbol in the game. The History of the ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO)
Valve design team
The ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO) was introduced by Valve during the "Shattered Web" update in late 2019, adding another distinctive knife type to the game's expanding arsenal. The Case Hardened finish has historic prominence in the Counter-Strike franchise, with its signature blend of blue, purple, and gold hues created using a chemical bluing technique.
Upon release, the skin quickly gained fanfare for its vibrant, randomized patterns. The knife's fame further surged during major CS:GO tournaments, where professional players would unbox the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened live, triggering instant hype and notable social media buzz. The quest for special patterns, especially the exclusive "blue gem" variants, sparked dedicated communities around pattern hunting.
As Counter-Strike transitioned to CS2, the ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened maintained its popularity, buoyed by high-profile trades, collector demand, and an established legacy from CS:GO. Its unique appearance and market value, coupled with the allure of rare pattern variations, ensure the skin continues to be a prized possession and a staple in the inventories of both pros and enthusiasts in today's CS2 market.
How Rare Is the ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened?
The probability of unboxing a ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened is extremely low, estimated at less than 1% per case, and there are no Souvenir versions or unique drops for this knife finish. Its limited supply in active case pools, combined with high demand among both collectors and casual players, keeps the skin's price and rarity elevated. The Rarity of ★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened, especially coveted "blue gem" patterns, further boosts its exclusivity, making it a status symbol and ensuring its continued popularity in the marketplace.

Wear levels:
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened Factory New: Float Value: 0.00 – 0.07. Features vibrant colors and minimal wear with nearly flawless surfaces. Prices are highest, especially for blue gem patterns.
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened Minimal Wear: Float Value: 0.07 – 0.15. Retains most of its vivid color with slight edge wear, making it a favorite choice for budget-conscious collectors.
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened Field Tested: Float Value: 0.15 – 0.38. Noticeable edge wear and some scratching, yet the iconic finish remains intact. Field-Tested is often the most traded condition due to affordability.
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened Well Worn: Float Value: 0.38 – 0.45. Increased wear, more muted colors, and visible abrasions, but can still hold significant value depending on the amount of blue on the blade.
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened Battle Scarred: Float Value: 0.45 – 1.00. Heavy wear and loss of color; often the cheapest but can be valuable if rare blue patterns are present.
★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened StatTrak™: Available in all wear levels. Adds a digital kill counter to the handle and typically commands a premium over non-StatTrak versions due to its exclusivity. The price jumps significantly for Factory New StatTrak and rare blue gem patterns.
