The History of the SCAR-20 | Splash Jam in CS2 (CS:GO)

The SCAR-20 | Splash Jam in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Valve’s in-house art team and initially released as part of The Arms Deal Update in August 2013, making it one of the earliest skin releases in CS:GO. Its distinct, bold color splash pattern set it apart and quickly became a sought-after item for its originality. The skin was obtainable from the Militia Collection, which is tied to the map Militia and released alongside the launch of the skin system. As competitive CS:GO gained traction and Major tournaments became globally popular, the CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Splash Jam saw spikes in community demand, especially after being showcased by pro players during Majors and big streaming events. Its older and limited nature made it a talking point among skin enthusiasts, and the player community often hyped it as one of the most iconic abstract finishes of its era. With the transition to CS2, the SCAR-20 | Splash Jam maintained its legacy—its status as a classic ensured continued interest from both collectors and active players who appreciate its vibrant, retro appeal. Today, it is still considered a timeless part of Counter-Strike’s rich cosmetic history.

How Rare Is the SCAR-20 | Splash Jam?

The rarity of SCAR-20 | Splash Jam in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Restricted, making it less common than most other skins for the SCAR-20, but not impossibly rare. The CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Splash Jam is only available as a drop from the Militia Collection, which greatly limits its supply since the collection is exclusive to operation drops and is not available in conventional weapon cases. The Rarity of SCAR-20 | Splash Jam and the discontinuation of the Militia Collection from active drop pools have increased the skin's scarcity over time. There is no souvenir version, making unbox odds relevant only to collection packages, with very low chances overall. The skin remains popular due to its unique abstract finish, vintage status, and collectibility, driving demand among passionate skin collectors.

SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The SCAR-20 | Splash Jam in CS2 (CS:GO) features an energetic combination of purple, red, and orange splashes layered across the rifle's body, creating a vibrant, chaotic look. Each skin instance has a unique splash pattern, bringing variety to every weapon.

Pattern difference: The look can vary depending on the pattern index, with some configurations showing more saturated or widespread splashes.

Effect of float: The SCAR-20 | Splash Jam float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, allowing it to drop in all five standard wear levels. Higher float values lead to more visible wear, particularly along the edges and prominent surfaces, while lower float values preserve the brightness and color integrity of the finish.

SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Factory New: Highly sought after for its pristine splash visuals and vivid colors, this version fetches the highest price. Because of its rarity, SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Factory New listings are uncommon on the marketplace.
SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Minimal Wear: Still retains most of the skin's intense colors with only minor edge wear. A more affordable alternative to Factory New but still considered premium.
SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Field Tested: Shows more evident surface wear, especially on the high points of the skin. The splash patterns are less vibrant but the weapon remains attractive and is widely traded.
SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Well Worn: Here, abrasions become more pronounced, affecting the splash effect by dulling or partially erasing sections of the pattern. Still popular for budget-conscious collectors.
SCAR-20 | Splash Jam Battle Scarred: Features the heaviest wear, significantly fading or erasing part of the splash, with duller color tones. Often the cheapest available but may appeal to those who like a battle-hardened look.
SCAR-20 | Splash Jam StatTrak: Available in all wear levels, StatTrak versions track kills and are more valuable across all conditions. StatTrak Factory New and Minimal Wear are especially rare and prized. The SCAR-20 | Splash Jam finish’s unique splash pattern makes every float and wear level distinct, with lower float values always being more desirable.
