The History of the SCAR-20 | Fragments in CS2 (CS:GO)

Who designed the SCAR-20 | Fragments?
The CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Fragments was designed by the popular community creator 2Minds, a duo known for their creative contributions to the CS:GO Workshop.

Appearance history
This skin made its debut on November 18, 2019, as part of the CS20 Case, which arrived to celebrate 20 years of Counter-Strike.

Rise to popularity
The launch of the CS20 Case sparked significant community excitement. The SCAR-20 | Fragments in CS2 (CS:GO) quickly became a standout, as players were drawn to its modern, fractured design. Although it was not highlighted at any specific CS:GO Major, it achieved hype for being part of an anniversary case packed with popular and nostalgic skins.

Transition into CS2
With the release of CS2, the SCAR-20 | Fragments continued its popularity, appealing to both new and veteran players due to its clean visuals and legacy as a CS20 Collection item. Its consistent demand and unique design have kept it relevant in both everyday matchmaking and professional play.

How Rare Is the SCAR-20 | Fragments?

Rarity of SCAR-20 | Fragments
The SCAR-20 | Fragments in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Restricted rarity skin, making it moderately rare compared to classified or covert skins. Players can obtain the CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Fragments exclusively by opening the CS20 Case. Since this case is still available in the drop pool, supply remains steady, but as cases continue to be unboxed, older wears and StatTrak versions become incrementally rarer.

The probability of unboxing the skin from a CS20 Case hovers around 15.98%, while the chance for a StatTrak version is significantly lower. There is currently no Souvenir version for SCAR-20 | Fragments, so collectors focus on pristine StatTrak variants.

SCAR-20 | Fragments remains a popular pick for its affordability, sleek look, and memorable case lineage. It's commonly seen across matchmaking and has resonated with both casual users and collectors.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The SCAR-20 | Fragments finish features angular red and gray shards scattered across the rifle body, giving it an aggressive, geometric look.

Pattern difference
While the pattern index may shift the fragmentation alignment slightly, overall visual changes are minor compared to pattern-dependent skins.

Effect of float
The SCAR-20 | Fragments float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.80, making it available in all wear levels: SCAR-20 | Fragments Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred.

Wear Levels Explained
SCAR-20 | Fragments Factory New: This version is pristine, with vibrant red and gray tones and virtually no scratches. It commands the highest prices, making it a favorite among collectors.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Minimal Wear: Slight signs of handling may be visible, especially at the edges, but the finish remains bright and visually clean. Prices are slightly lower than Factory New, but it is still a prized condition.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Field-Tested: Noticeable wear appears on the main surfaces and near the magazine. This version balances affordability and aesthetics, appealing to budget-conscious buyers.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Well Worn: Scratches become more prominent, and colors may seem more faded. It is a more affordable choice, offering the unique Fragments style at a lower cost.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Battle Scarred: The most worn state; heavy abrasions affect the body, dulling the finish. This is the lowest-priced option, but some collectors seek high-float values for their uniqueness.

SCAR-20 | Fragments StatTrak™: Each wear level has its own StatTrak version, tracking confirmed kills in-game. The StatTrak versions, especially in Factory New or Minimal Wear, are more expensive and highly sought after.

No matter the condition, the SCAR-20 | Fragments finish maintains its fragmented motif, with float value being the primary determinant of visual wear and price.

SCAR-20 | Fragments Price & Market Value

SCAR-20 | Fragments price analysis shows significant variation based on wear and StatTrak. As of June 2024, a SCAR-20 | Fragments in CS2 (CS:GO) costs approximately $0.25-$0.40 for Field-Tested, $0.40-$0.60 for Minimal Wear, and $0.80-$1.50 for Factory New on the Steam Community Market. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred versions are typically priced between $0.20-$0.35.

The CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Fragments price rises sharply for StatTrak: Factory New StatTrak averages $2.30, Minimal Wear StatTrak $1.80, and Field-Tested StatTrak about $1.40. The SCAR-20 | Fragments price is influenced by float value, with lower floats (closer to Factory New) fetching premium, and by custom stickers applied.

There is no Souvenir version, so no pro signature bonuses. How much is the SCAR-20 | Fragments? A regular StatTrak Factory New with favorable stickers might sell for over $3. Is SCAR-20 | Fragments worth buying? For collectors, StatTrak and pristine float variants represent the best value, while casual players will find all conditions a budget-friendly upgrade.

What Is the Souvenir SCAR-20 | Fragments

However, the SCAR-20 | Fragments in CS2 (CS:GO) does not have a Souvenir version. This means there are no commemorative Fragments skins dropped during majors or featuring pro autographs, and no record-breaking sales for a souvenir edition of CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Fragments.
