The History of the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO)

The CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Crimson Web was designed by Valve’s in-house development team and released on August 14, 2013, as part of The Arms Deal Collection. Its eye-catching appearance – a vibrant crimson finish accented with black spider-web patterns – quickly set it apart from other SCAR-20 skins. During the early years of competitive CS:GO, the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web became increasingly popular among players and collectors, especially as the SCAR-20 rifle gained situational relevance in tournament play. The skin’s supply remained relatively scarce, fueling a wave of community hype each time it appeared in tournaments or pro inventories. While it was never featured in a Souvenir version during the Majors, its notoriety only grew as Crimson Web-patterned skins became coveted items within the broader CS:GO community. The transition into CS2 continued to stoke demand, as the newly refreshed visuals gave the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) even more visual prominence. Today, the skin remains a respected, somewhat nostalgic staple, attracting both old-school fans and newer collectors alike.

How Rare Is the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web?

The rarity of SCAR-20 | Crimson Web is classified as Restricted, making it rarer than most common skins but still more accessible than Covert finishes. The CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Crimson Web is available exclusively from The Arms Deal Collection, which means it cannot be obtained from most modern case drops or active drop pools, thus reducing its supply over time. The unboxing odds for Restricted skins are modest compared to Classified or Covert, but the absence of a Souvenir version further amplifies the CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Crimson Web's exclusivity. With its classic design and nostalgic appeal, the skin maintains a loyal following and sees steady demand, despite not being ultra-rare. Its steady popularity and faded drop source contribute to the moderate but stable price and trading activity seen in the market.

SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web finish is a vivid red coat overlayed with a distinct, randomized spider web pattern in black. No two patterns are exactly alike, and collectors sometimes seek patterns with unique web placement.

Pattern difference
The “web” position and the visibility of intersections can increase desirability and price for rare pattern indexes.

Effect of float
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, making the skin available in all wear levels. As the float value increases, abrasions and fading become more apparent, especially on the gun’s edges and main body, diminishing the boldness of the design.

Skin Features
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) is offered in standard and StatTrak™ variants.

Factory New (FN):
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Factory New is extremely limited, with vibrant colors, no visible wear, and crisp web lines. The price for Factory New is the highest, often costing several times more than lower condition counterparts.

Minimal Wear (MW):
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Minimal Wear retains most color and detail, with minor abrasions on high contact areas. Minimal Wear prices are significantly lower than FN, but still maintain investment value.

Field-Tested (FT):
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Field Tested shows moderate wear, primarily faded red areas and dulled web patterns. Prices are more budget-friendly, but the artistic details are still prominent.

Well-Worn (WW):
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Well Worn displays extensive fading and wear, and webbing may appear less defined. Prices drop further, and some collectors seek specific WW patterns for unique looks.

Battle-Scarred (BS):
The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Battle Scarred is heavily faded, with a muted red and barely visible webs. Battle-Scarred is the most affordable, but heavily worn in appearance.

StatTrak™ Versions:
StatTrak™ SCAR-20 | Crimson Webs track kills and are available in all conditions. StatTrak™ variants usually command a premium across wear levels.

SCAR-20 | Crimson Web float value directly impacts the visual appearance and overall market price, with rare Factory New/Minimal Wear floats and well-centered web patterns fetching the highest premiums.

SCAR-20 | Crimson Web Price & Market Value

As of 2024, the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) sees significant price fluctuations depending on wear and StatTrak™ status. Field-Tested prices often range from $20 to $50, and Well-Worn conditions can be found for $15 to $35. The SCAR-20 | Crimson Web price in Battle-Scarred form may be as low as $10 to $20. StatTrak™ variants command even higher prices, with Factory New StatTrak™ versions sometimes exceeding $300. Factors influencing value include the float value, web pattern placement, and attached rare stickers. How much is the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web? The answer depends on these factors, with the highest values reserved for perfect float and desirable web positions. Is SCAR-20 | Crimson Web worth buying? For collectors who appreciate classic skins and unique patterns, the answer is a strong yes.

What Is the Souvenir SCAR-20 | Crimson Web

Unlike some high-end sniper and rifle skins, the SCAR-20 | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) does not have a Souvenir version. This means it is not obtainable from commemorative souvenir packages dropped during CS:GO Majors and therefore cannot feature pro player autographs such as s1mple, dev1ce, or GuardiaN. The absence of a Souvenir version makes the regular CS2 (CS:GO) SCAR-20 | Crimson Web somewhat more consistently valued, as collectors can only focus on the standard and StatTrak™ editions. There are no record-breaking auction sales tied to tournament moments for this skin.
