The History of the Sawed-Off | Highwayman in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Sawed-Off | Highwayman was designed by Valve artists and was introduced to the game on September 3, 2018, as part of The 2018 Inferno Collection for CS:GO. The skin immediately caught the attention of players thanks to its vintage highwayman motif, complete with rich browns and gold accents that evoke the look of a classic outlaw’s shotgun. Its appearance during key CS:GO Major championships, especially on Inferno, led to increased hype within the community as players sought to show their individuality with a bold new look.

As word spread and professional players began equipping the Sawed-Off | Highwayman in matches, its profile grew rapidly. The CS2 (CS:GO) Sawed-Off | Highwayman became emblematic of players who appreciated style as much as performance. The period during and following the Inferno Collection’s launch saw a surge in demand, with the skin often featured in unboxing streams and highlight reels. As CS:GO transitioned to CS2, the skin retained its popularity, with updated lighting and textures enhancing its appeal. To this day, the Sawed-Off | Highwayman in CS2 (CS:GO) remains a coveted choice for both new players and veteran collectors.

How Rare Is the Sawed-Off | Highwayman?

The rarity of Sawed-Off | Highwayman in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Mil-Spec Grade (Blue), making it one of the more accessible skins but still notable for collectors due to its unique design. The CS2 (CS:GO) Sawed-Off | Highwayman can be unboxed from the 2018 Inferno Collection, primarily obtained through opening packages associated with that collection. Since the Inferno Collection is only available during special events or as a random drop from Operation rewards, this impacts its availability and supply.

Rarity of Sawed-Off | Highwayman is further influenced by the lack of a souvenir version and its moderate popularity in the marketplace. The probability of unboxing a Mil-Spec Grade skin from a collection case is around 79.92%, but specific odds for each skin are lower due to the overall number of Mil-Spec skins in the collection. Despite its relative ease of unboxing compared to higher-tier skins, the Highwayman is still a popular choice, keeping it in steady demand among CS2 enthusiasts.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The Sawed-Off | Highwayman finish features deep maroon and gold accents, conjuring imagery of classic American wild west outlaws. The intricate gold filigree and detailed body artwork remain a visual highlight regardless of wear.

Pattern difference
Like most finishes in its collection, the pattern index does not significantly alter the visual appearance of the skin, ensuring consistency in its iconic artwork across all drops.

Effect of float
Sawed-Off | Highwayman float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50, making it available in all conditions: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred.

Skin Features
Available in both standard and StatTrak™ versions, this skin does not have souvenir editions.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman factory new – With a float value close to 0.00, Factory New versions show little to no visible wear, keeping the gold and maroon details vibrant and pristine. These are the most desirable and higher-priced among all conditions.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman minimal wear – Slight abrasions may be visible but the overall finish remains fresh. Still highly sought after, prices are slightly lower than FN but the visual quality is very close.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman Field Tested – A noticeable amount of fading appears on the edges and grip area. The Highwayman finish color slightly dulls but the design remains recognizable. This is often the most affordable compromise for maintaining looks and saving cost.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman well worn – Significant abrasions and wear appear, especially on the handle and the receiver. The gold decorations become muted, and the maroon base shows heavy fading. This condition is generally valued lower but appeals to those who like a battle-hardened look.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman Battle Scarred – As the float value nears 0.50, the artwork becomes heavily worn; gold details are faded and the shotgun has a rugged, distressed appearance. Though the least expensive variant, some collectors prefer this look for its character.

Sawed-Off | Highwayman StatTrak™ – Offers kill tracking in-game for either side of play. StatTrak™ versions typically command a premium across all wear categories and are favored by dedicated players seeking both style and stat-tracking functionality.
