The History of the R8 Revolver | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO)

The R8 Revolver | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) was part of a group of skins designed by Valve’s in-house artists. Its debut came with the release of the Revolver Case on December 8, 2015, coinciding with the introduction of the R8 Revolver pistol into the game. The CS2 (CS:GO) R8 Revolver | Crimson Web quickly gained attention for its bold red finish adorned with black spiderweb lines—an aesthetic inspired by the original Crimson Web series on knives. While the R8 Revolver itself encountered mixed reception in its early days due to balancing controversies, the Crimson Web skin drew excitement, particularly surrounding major CS:GO tournaments. During certain CS:GO Majors, this skin’s value surged as pro players occasionally showcased it during live matches, generating community hype and fueling its collectibility. As CS:GO evolved to CS2, the R8 Revolver | Crimson Web transitioned seamlessly, preserving its visual identity while continuing to attract fans in the updated engine. Today, it holds a respected place in both active inventories and collectors’ showcases, treasured for its nostalgic ties to iconic moments in Counter-Strike skin culture.

How Rare Is the R8 Revolver | Crimson Web?

The R8 Revolver | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Restricted rarity skin, making it one of the rarer drops from its collection. It is available exclusively from the Revolver Case, which has since been removed from the active drop pool—dramatically limiting new supply and increasing scarcity over time. The CS2 (CS:GO) R8 Revolver | Crimson Web does not have a Souvenir variant, so the only way to acquire this skin is through trading or opening Revolver Cases, where the probability of obtaining it is low, approximately 3.2% for a Restricted skin per case unboxed. The rarity of R8 Revolver | Crimson Web is further influenced by its popularity, particularly among collectors chasing top float ranks or specific pattern indexes. Its consistent demand keeps resale prices stable and above other R8 Revolver skins.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The R8 Revolver | Crimson Web finish is characterized by a vivid red base layered with intricate black spiderweb designs. The pattern covers the majority of the frame and barrel, and each skin instance has a unique web layout, making certain patterns more collectible.

Pattern difference
Although the spiderweb pattern is fixed in style, each drop has slight variations in web placement and density, causing some versions to be more desirable to traders and collectors, particularly those with full web patterns on prominent areas.

Effect of float
The R8 Revolver | Crimson Web float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, meaning it is available in all conditions from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. The float directly impacts the vibrancy of the red and the amount of visible wear, with higher float values displaying more scratches and discoloration.

Skin Features
All levels come with or without StatTrak™ versions.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web factory new
This variant has a clean, unblemished finish with deep red coloration and crisp webs. It is the most valuable and rarest among all wears. Prices for Factory New versions often command a significant premium in the market.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web minimal wear
Minimal Wear shows only faint abrasions on high-friction edges, maintaining most of the skin's original appeal. These are more readily available and offer a balance between aesthetics and affordability.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web Field Tested
Field-Tested displays moderate wear on the body, especially around the barrel and handle. The spiderweb pattern remains prominent, although the red may appear slightly dulled. This condition is popular due to its lower price point.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web well worn
The Well-Worn version reveals significant abrasions and fading, especially on raised surfaces. Collectors tend to avoid these unless the web pattern is exceptionally appealing.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web Battle Scarred
Battle-Scarred features heavy wear, with much of the red worn to reveal the underlayer. The pattern is still discernible but noticeably muted. This variant is the most affordable.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web StatTrak
StatTrak™ versions of this skin track kill counts and generally fetch higher prices across all wear levels. These are especially prized among players who want their skins to showcase in-game achievements.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web float value
Lower float value (closer to Factory New) always increases desirability and price, while higher floats (Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred) significantly decrease value.

R8 Revolver | Crimson Web finish
The skin's overall visual impact varies directly with its float and wear level, making float an essential factor for both value and collectibility.
