The History of the P90 | Mustard Gas in CS2 (CS:GO)

The P90 | Mustard Gas in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Valve's in-house art team and first introduced to the game on August 14, 2013, as part of the eSports 2013 Case. Its distinctive design features a hazmat-inspired motif with industrial yellow accents and hazard symbol detailing. The CS2 (CS:GO) P90 | Mustard Gas quickly gained attention for its thematic flair, making it a favorite among players seeking a unique and intimidating look for their SMG.

This skin saw a rise in popularity during the early CS:GO Majors, particularly due to its visibility in community events and its appealing price point compared to other, more premium SMG skins. As the eSports cases became a staple of competitive events, the community hype around Mustard Gas further intensified, with players favoring it for its striking visuals and association with the evolving eSports scene.

With the transition into Counter-Strike 2, the P90 | Mustard Gas retained its iconic status, benefiting from enhanced game visuals that brought out more of its industrial textures and details. Its popularity remains steady in CS2, with veterans and newer players alike appreciating its blend of history and style.

How Rare Is the P90 | Mustard Gas?

The P90 | Mustard Gas in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (blue) SMG skin, making it one of the more accessible rare drops. It was originally obtainable from the eSports 2013 Case, which has been removed from the active drop pool, increasing its scarcity in recent years. Unboxing odds for Industrial Grade skins are significantly higher than ultra-rare skins; however, the removal of its source case has made the skin less commonly seen in recent inventories.

There is no Souvenir version of the CS2 (CS:GO) P90 | Mustard Gas, leaving traditional unboxing as the only method for original acquisition. P90 | Mustard Gas Field Tested: Displays moderate abrasions, especially on high-contact areas. It offers a balance between affordability and presentable appearance.
P90 | Mustard Gas well worn: Features noticeable scratches, fading, and discoloration. The design is visibly battered, appealing to those who prefer a grittier look.
