The History of the P250 | Mint Kimono in CS2 (CS:GO)

The creator behind the P250 | Mint Kimono is Valve’s in-house art team, who have consistently delivered culturally inspired designs for Counter-Strike. The skin made its first appearance in the game as part of The Rising Sun Collection, introduced on May 26, 2015, during the DreamHack 2015 update. This collection celebrated Japanese culture, with the Mint Kimono skin drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese textile patterns.
The P250 | Mint Kimono in CS2 (CS:GO) quickly caught the eye of players due to its unique color palette and pattern, setting it apart from more standard or generic gun finishes. The skin rose to visibility during CS:GO Majors, as players and viewers appreciated its vibrant look, especially when paired with matching loadouts during high-profile tournaments.
In the years since its release, the skin has experienced waves of popularity, particularly when Asian teams performed strongly at international events, leading to a resurgence in community hype. With the transition from CS:GO to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) P250 | Mint Kimono retained its charm—its clean, modernized graphics ensure it continues to be sought after by both new and longstanding fans. Its blend of cultural reference and in-game recognition make it a standout skin in the P250 lineup.

How Rare Is the P250 | Mint Kimono?

The P250 | Mint Kimono in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade skin, placing it at the lower end of the rarity spectrum. Originally, it could only be obtained as a drop from The Rising Sun Collection, which itself was only available through souvenir packages or as rewards during specific operations.
As of now, the CS2 (CS:GO) P250 | Mint Kimono is no longer in active drop pools since the removal of Operation Bloodhound drops, making factory new and minimal wear versions much less common on the market. The rarity of P250 | Mint Kimono is increasing over time due to the halted drops and a limited supply.
While unboxing odds are generally higher for Industrial Grade skins, finding pristine versions, especially with favorable float values, is becoming difficult. There is no Souvenir version of this skin, limiting special edition options and strengthening its exclusivity. Despite its lower technical rarity, the skin’s cult popularity and decreasing circulation on the market make certain conditions and patterns of the Mint Kimono highly desirable among collectors and fans.

P250 | Mint Kimono Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The P250 | Mint Kimono finish features an intricate textile-inspired geometric pattern in soft mint green and white tones, reminiscent of a traditional Japanese kimono. Each skin has randomized pattern placement, making every drop unique.

Pattern difference
Due to the randomized pattern index, some Mint Kimono skins exhibit more floral or geometric dominance, adding collectible value to variants with especially striking arrangements.

Effect of float
The P250 | Mint Kimono float value ranges from 0.00 (Factory New) to 0.80 (Battle-Scarred), impacting both appearance and market price. Lower float values mean less visible wear and a brighter finish, while higher floats exhibit heavy scratches and fading.

Skin Wear Levels Explained:
P250 | Mint Kimono Factory New: Shows almost no wear, with the full mint color and crisp patterns intact. This is the most expensive and desirable version, appealing to collectors who want flawless skins.
P250 | Mint Kimono Minimal Wear: Very slight edge abrasions are visible, but the skin still presents a mostly clean appearance. Prices are lower than Factory New but value remains high for display or trade.
P250 | Mint Kimono Field Tested: Noticeable wear begins to appear, including dulled colors and pattern fading on less prominent parts. This version offers a tradeoff between appearance and affordability.
P250 | Mint Kimono Well Worn: Larger portions of the finish show scratches, fading, and color loss, significantly impacting the overall visual quality. These are the most affordable options for budget collectors.
P250 | Mint Kimono Battle Scarred: Heavy wear and substantial fading of the geometric design. Little of the original finish remains intact, but these carry a certain rugged charm.
P250 | Mint Kimono StatTrak™: StatTrak versions track kills and are slightly rarer, especially in Factory New and Minimal Wear, attracting premium pricing.

Each wear level and P250 | Mint Kimono StatTrak version displays the balance of pattern, float, and affordability, letting collectors and players choose an option that fits their preferences and budget.
