The History of the P2000 | Sure Grip in CS2 (CS:GO)

The P2000 | Sure Grip in CS2 (CS:GO) was created by community designer "absentee" and first appeared as part of The Prisma Case, released on March 13, 2019. Its introduction brought a rugged, rubberized aesthetic to the classic P2000, mixing functionality and visual boldness.

When it was initially launched in CS:GO, this skin captured players' attention due to its unique "grippy" design and the way it elevated the default pistol into something with true style. As CS:GO Majors gained prominence, the CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Sure Grip gained further exposure: while it wasn’t the most coveted skin among star players, its approachable price and clean visuals saw it become a staple among grassroots players and mid-tier collectors.

During periods of heightened community activity, especially when the Prisma Case was prevalent, the Sure Grip saw a surge in popularity as both a trade-up filler and an accessible buy for players looking to stand out without breaking the bank.

With the transition into CS2, the Sure Grip’s legacy lives on. Its updated visuals and fit within the refreshed engine ensured sustained popularity, especially among players who value clean, functional pistol skins for both competitive play and collecting.

How Rare Is the P2000 | Sure Grip?

The P2000 | Sure Grip in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Mil-Spec (Blue) pistol skin, making it one of the more common drops within the Prisma Case. The CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Sure Grip is not available in souvenir packages and was never offered as a tournament drop.

Rarity of P2000 | Sure Grip is considered low, as its Mil-Spec status means it has a relatively high probability of being unboxed when opening Prisma Cases, estimated at around 79.92% for blue-grade skins. Since the Prisma Case is still available, the supply remains stable, preventing the skin from becoming overly rare or expensive. There is no Souvenir P2000 | Sure Grip, so odds are not impacted by tournament events.

Despite its accessibility, the skin enjoys consistent popularity among everyday players due to its affordable price, clean design, and reliability as a trade-up filler. It’s a staple choice for new collectors and those seeking a dependable, budget-friendly pistol skin.
