The History of the P2000 | Chainmail in CS2 (CS:GO)

Designed by Valve\'s in-house art team, the P2000 | Chainmail in CS2 (CS:GO) was introduced as part of The Cobblestone Collection that debuted on July 1, 2014, during Operation Breakout. This skin was released to embody the medieval theme of the Cobblestone map, with its distinct chainmail pattern reminiscent of knight armor.

The CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Chainmail gained momentum following its appearance in high-profile CS:GO Majors, where Cobblestone-themed skins drew significant fan interest. The limited distribution and the historical allure of the collection led to a boost in hype, especially during periods when the Cobblestone Collection was temporarily removed from drops.

As Counter-Strike transitioned to CS2, the P2000 | Chainmail retained its historical importance and desirability due to its scarcity and classic design. Skin collectors and professional players continued to showcase it in their inventories, preserving its status as a symbol of early skin culture and legacy within the evolving world of CS2 skins.

How Rare Is the P2000 | Chainmail?

The P2000 | Chainmail in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Mil-Spec (Industrial Grade) skin, making it one of the rarer blue skins due to its drop method. Originally, the CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Chainmail could only be unboxed from the Cobblestone Collection, obtained through drop pools related to Operation Breakout and during select Majors. The rarity of P2000 | Chainmail is further enhanced by the removal of the Cobblestone Collection from active drop pools, restricting new supply.

Unboxing chances were always slim, with estimated odds below 8% given its collection exclusivity, and unlike some Cobblestone Collection skins, P2000 | Chainmail does not have a souvenir version, making regular versions the only source. The skin still enjoys steady popularity in the market due to its historical status and connection to Cobblestone, with price and demand fueled by its limited availability.

P2000 | Chainmail Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
P2000 | Chainmail finish displays a stylized medieval chainmail texture, delivering a sense of intricate armor plating. The pattern is fixed, so there is no pattern variation between drops.

Effect of float
The P2000 | Chainmail float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.60, making the skin available in all wear levels. The float precisely affects the visibility and sharpness of the chainmail details; higher float means more wear.

Factory New
The P2000 | Chainmail factory new version features crisp, sharp details with minimal to no scratches, making it highly desirable and more expensive. Collectors often pay premium prices for this wear tier.

Minimal Wear
P2000 | Chainmail minimal wear offers only minor blemishes, retaining much of the original finish. Prices are slightly lower than Factory New, but it remains a top choice for budget-conscious collectors.

Field-Tested
P2000 | Chainmail Field Tested shows moderate wear, with the chainmail pattern appearing slightly faded yet still visually appealing. These are more commonly traded and generally affordable.

Well-Worn
The P2000 | Chainmail well worn condition reveals evident abrasions across the slide and grip, giving a time-worn, battle-hardened look. Prices tend to drop in this tier but collectors still hunt these as affordable display items.

Battle-Scarred
A P2000 | Chainmail Battle Scarred showcases pronounced wear and faded detail, often with significant chipping. This version has the lowest market price, appealing primarily to those interested in collecting every possible wear.

StatTrak™ versions
Currently, there is no P2000 | Chainmail StatTrak edition available, making regular variants the only option for collectors. This absence increases the demand for pristine non-StatTrak options.

Skin Features
The P2000 | Chainmail finish remains consistent and iconic across all wear levels; the primary variation is the visibility of the pattern due to the P2000 | Chainmail float value.

P2000 | Chainmail Price & Market Value

The P2000 | Chainmail price is highly influenced by its wear level, float value, and status as part of the retired Cobblestone Collection. Currently, the Factory New version sells for around $50-$75 USD, while P2000 | Chainmail minimal wear typically ranges from $35-$60. Expect Field-Tested variants to be priced approximately $20-$35, Well-Worn around $15-$25, and Battle-Scarred versions as low as $10-$18. As no StatTrak variant exists, pricing is solely for the standard skin.

There is no souvenir edition for this skin, so pro sticker and tournament price spikes are not a factor here. Float value has a direct impact on price: lower float (closer to 0) increases the value, especially on Factory New and Minimal Wear skins. Unique sticker placements, while possible, generally provide minor additional value unless the stickers are rare or themed.

How much is the P2000 | Chainmail? Given the current scarcity, market demand stays steady and prices have seen gradual appreciation over time. P2000 | Chainmail price reflects its collector appeal, and the cobblestone story ensures ongoing demand. Is P2000 | Chainmail worth buying? If you value classic, history-rich skins, this item is a solid addition to any inventory.

What Is the Souvenir P2000 | Chainmail

There is no souvenir version for the P2000 | Chainmail in CS2 (CS:GO). While many Cobblestone Collection skins received souvenir variants commemorating pro matches and featuring team stickers or player autographs, CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Chainmail remained a standard drop only. As a result, there are no tournament-specific editions or record-breaking auction sales tied to this skin. All available versions are the regular collection releases.

Famous Players & Streamers with P2000 | Chainmail

While the P2000 | Chainmail is not the most prominently featured skin in pro tournaments, its Cobblestone legacy has drawn attention from several popular players and streamers. Known pros like NBK- and GuardiaN have been spotted with it in their inventories during the Cobblestone meta era, often showcasing it for its collectability rather than for showy gameplay. Influential streamers and content creators occasionally select this skin to highlight rare and historical items, keeping the skin visible and adding to its collector prestige. This low-key endorsement by respected figures ensures it retains a solid cult following among skin enthusiasts.
