The History of the P2000 | Acid Etched in CS2 (CS:GO)

The P2000 | Acid Etched in CS2 (CS:GO) was introduced as part of the Prisma 2 Case on March 31, 2020. The skin was designed by community creator "PTP" and quickly gained popularity for its distinctive etched metallic style. During significant CS:GO Majors, the P2000 | Acid Etched was frequently seen, particularly among players who preferred unique, yet affordable sidearms. The growing hype for the design swelled during the summer of 2020, as influencers highlighted it in their inventories and gameplay videos. Its status was further solidified by positive community feedback and ongoing trade activity. Initially available only in CS:GO, the skin transitioned seamlessly into Counter-Strike 2, where the CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Acid Etched retained its popularity. While not the rarest or most expensive, its widespread adoption and reputable design have ensured a consistent presence among both casual players and dedicated collectors.

How Rare Is the P2000 | Acid Etched?

The P2000 | Acid Etched in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Mil-Spec (blue) rarity skin. It can be obtained through the Prisma 2 Case, which remains available on the Steam Community Market and in-game. Since the case has not been removed from the drop pool, the supply of the skin is stable but not unlimited. The probability of unboxing a Mil-Spec skin like the CS2 (CS:GO) P2000 | Acid Etched is around 79.92% per case, but the specific odds for this exact skin are lower due to the pool of other Mil-Spec skins available from the same case. The skin does not have a Souvenir version, which slightly limits its overall rarity compared to other P2000 skins. Despite being common in availability, its distinctive design and popularity keep it in demand among players looking for stylish, affordable options.

P2000 | Acid Etched Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
P2000 | Acid Etched finish features an intricately detailed acid-etched metal pattern with abstract swirls and a silver tone. The P2000 | Acid Etched pattern is static, so the appearance remains consistent across all float values.

Effect of float
The P2000 | Acid Etched float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50, allowing it to drop in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred conditions.

Factory New:
The P2000 | Acid Etched factory new variant shines with crisp, clean edges and virtually no visible wear. This wear level is the most visually appealing and often carries the highest price.

Minimal Wear:
The P2000 | Acid Etched minimal wear skin shows very faint abrasions on the edges while maintaining the metallic luster. Price is slightly less than Factory New but retains a premium appearance.

Field-Tested:
The P2000 | Acid Etched field tested displays more noticeable scratches, especially on high-contact areas. Float values in this range offer a good balance between cost and quality.

Well-Worn:
The P2000 | Acid Etched well worn comes with heavier abrasions and the etching appears somewhat faded. It's more affordable but appeals mostly to players looking for a battle-hardened look.

Battle-Scarred:
The P2000 | Acid Etched battle scarred features significant surface wear with much of the metallic pattern dulled. This is the lowest-priced option but is still popular due to its unique, worn-out style.

StatTrak™ Versions:
Available in all conditions, the P2000 | Acid Etched StatTrak variant tracks confirmed kills and is typically more valuable. StatTrak models, particularly in lower wear levels such as Factory New and Minimal Wear, are especially sought after by collectors.
