The History of the Nova | Walnut in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Nova | Walnut in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed as part of the Italy Collection, reflecting a classic hunting shotgun aesthetic with a polished wooden stock and forend. While Valve is the credited creator of the Italy Collection, the simple yet elegant Walnut finish quickly stood out after its release alongside the game's launch in August 2013. Early on, the skin was often overshadowed by more colorful and expensive designs, but as Counter-Strike evolved and Collector's cases became more popular, the CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Walnut began receiving more attention—especially among collectors seeking to complete Italy-themed inventories. During CS:GO Majors, whenever Italy was in the map pool, interest in the skin spiked and the community generated substantial hype around completing full Italy Collection setups. Its transition into CS2 has only reaffirmed its place, as players continue appreciating the Walnut's simplicity and class. Today, it remains a beloved pick for fans of traditional weapon skins and a solid choice for players who prefer realism over flash.

How Rare Is the Nova | Walnut?

The Nova | Walnut in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Consumer Grade (common) skin found exclusively as a drop from the Italy Collection, primarily available through in-game drops and during past events like Operation Bravo. The CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Walnut was never part of regular weapon cases and remains limited to collection drops, which were at one point removed from the active drop pool, directly affecting its supply and the rarity of Nova | Walnut. While not considered rare compared to restricted or covert skins, the odds of unboxing or dropping a Walnut today are relatively low given the limited Italy Collection access. There is no Souvenir Nova | Walnut available, so event-based odds do not apply. Its popularity is average, driven primarily by nostalgia and collection seekers rather than rarity value.

Nova | Walnut Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The Nova | Walnut finish features a realistic, high-gloss wooden pattern across the shotgun's main body. Its classic look is straightforward and strongly resembles authentic walnut wood.
Pattern difference
There are no significant pattern index variations, so all Nova | Walnut skins maintain a consistent appearance.
Effect of float
The Nova | Walnut float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50, allowing the skin to be found in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred conditions.
Nova | Walnut factory new
This variant presents a pristine, unblemished walnut finish with the gloss and deep color fully intact. Prices for factory new tend to be the highest among all conditions, though the difference is not dramatic due to the skin's Consumer Grade status.
Nova | Walnut minimal wear
Minimal wear versions show barely perceptible abrasions, with slight fading at key points like the receiver and stock. The overall appearance remains almost flawless, only slightly cheaper than Factory New.
Nova | Walnut Field Tested
The Field-Tested Nova | Walnut displays minor scratches and subtle wear along the body. The wood texture starts to show signs of use but still retains much of its original finish.
Nova | Walnut well worn
There is a more obvious presence of scratches and fading, especially on the grip and stock. The overall brown color appears lighter due to wear.
Nova | Walnut Battle Scarred
This condition has significant abrasions across the shotgun. Much of the walnut finish is dulled, lacking the deep gloss of newer versions. Battle Scarred variants are often the cheapest.
Nova | Walnut StatTrak
StatTrak versions of Nova | Walnut are not available, as Italy Collection skins do not offer StatTrak variants.
Nova | Walnut float value
The skin's float value determines the degree of visible wear, but does not produce dramatic changes in the overall appearance of its finish. All levels retain the same woodgrain look with progressive wear.
Skin Features
The skin is Consumer Grade and not available in StatTrak or Souvenir versions. Its finish stays mostly consistent regardless of float.
