The History of the Nova | Polar Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Nova | Polar Mesh was designed by Valve\'s in-house art team and first appeared in CS:GO on November 27, 2013, as part of the Lake Collection, which was released alongside Operation Bravo. Its launch brought a frosty and utilitarian camo style to the shotgun category, setting it apart from more vibrant options available at the time. The appearance of the Nova | Polar Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) did not go unnoticed: it quickly became recognized for its affordability and classic appeal among budget-focused players.
Though this skin never reached the price heights of rare knives or rifles, the CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Polar Mesh developed a reputation as a go-to pick for shotgun enthusiasts and collectors interested in the more understated side of the Lake Collection. There were intermittent periods of hype, notably during the build-up to the 2014 and 2015 CS:GO Majors when affordable and clean skins saw a resurgence in popularity for trade-ups and themed inventories. With the release of Counter-Strike 2, the Nova | Polar Mesh transitioned seamlessly into the new engine, retaining its fan base and continuing to be a staple in budget loadouts. Its widespread availability and classic camo have made it a familiar sight in matches and community showcases, further cementing its place in CS history.

How Rare Is the Nova | Polar Mesh?

Nova | Polar Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (light blue) skin, making it one of the more common drops in the game. The skin is part of the Lake Collection, which is obtainable through the Lake Collection Package—an operation or map-specific drop rather than a standard weapon case.
The CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Polar Mesh is still available in the drop pool, particularly as a reward for playing on the Lake map in competitive or casual matchmaking, though it is not as frequently dropped as during the earlier days of CS:GO. The rarity of Nova | Polar Mesh is considered low to moderate, with no Souvenir version available, meaning it is easier to acquire than many higher-tier skins. Odds of unboxing it are much higher than Covert or Classified skins, but its consistent demand keeps its popularity steady, especially for budget collectors and new players. While not rare in the traditional sense, its classic design ensures it remains a popular staple within the Nova skin lineup.

Nova | Polar Mesh Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The Nova | Polar Mesh finish features a lattice-like mesh overlay in blue and grey tones, giving the shotgun a wintry, subdued appearance. The pattern does not vary significantly; every Nova | Polar Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) shares the mesh look, with minor differences depending on wear.

Effect of float
The Nova | Polar Mesh float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, making it available in all wear conditions: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. As the float increases, scratches and wear on the finish become more obvious, especially around the body and barrel.

Factory New
A Nova | Polar Mesh factory new has a vibrant and undamaged pattern, with clear mesh lines and a crisp color tone. These are usually more valuable, especially if they have a very low float value.

Minimal Wear
The Nova | Polar Mesh minimal wear shows only minor surface scratches, with mesh details intact. There is a marginal price drop compared to Factory New, but the look remains clean and attractive.

Field-Tested
A Nova | Polar Mesh Field Tested has more visible wear, especially along the grip and edges. These are commonly found on the market and offer a good balance between price and appearance.

Well-Worn
The Nova | Polar Mesh well worn displays considerable scuffing, duller colors, and more prominent abrasions. It is popular among those who appreciate a 'battle-hardened' style.

Battle-Scarred
A Nova | Polar Mesh Battle Scarred has significant fading and noticeable scratches, making the mesh pattern appear heavily used.

StatTrak
The Nova | Polar Mesh StatTrak variant tracks kills and is marked by the orange StatTrak counter. Prices are often higher for these versions, especially in Factory New or Minimal Wear, with float value influencing collectibility.

Skin Features
Across wear levels, the Nova | Polar Mesh finish remains consistent in pattern but shifts in brightness and abrasion. Float value can affect price, particularly for nearly pristine (low-float) or unique (high-float, heavily worn) versions. StatTrak upgrades further appeal to collectors and serious players.

Nova | Polar Mesh Price & Market Value

Nova | Polar Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) remains one of the most affordable and accessible shotgun skins on the Steam Community Market. As of June 2024, the Nova | Polar Mesh price ranges from as low as $0.03 USD for Battle-Scarred or Field-Tested versions, up to about $0.20 USD for Factory New. Minimal Wear versions trade for roughly $0.08-$0.12, and Well-Worn sits close to Field-Tested pricing.

There is no official Souvenir version with pro signatures, so special collectible value is limited to StatTrak and ultra-low float variants. Nova | Polar Mesh StatTrak options typically fetch $0.11-$0.35, depending on condition, with Factory New leading the price bracket.

Factors influencing Nova | Polar Mesh price include float value (lower values are more desirable), rare item stickers, and whether the skin is StatTrak. Since it is a common drop and always in circulation, prices are stable, making it a great entry-level or trade-up skin.

How much is the Nova | Polar Mesh? Typically, well below $0.50 USD regardless of wear. Is Nova | Polar Mesh worth buying? For budget inventories, trade-ups, or collecting classic skins, its value proposition remains strong.

What Is the Souvenir Nova | Polar Mesh

That means collectors cannot acquire a unique CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Polar Mesh dropped directly from major tournament souvenir packages.
