The History of the Nova | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO)

The Nova | Army Sheen was introduced to the Counter-Strike universe as part of The Italy Collection, released alongside CS:GO's launch on August 14, 2013. The skin was designed by Valve's in-house artists, embracing the utilitarian and military-focused aesthetic that resonates with many players. Its initial appearance allowed players to equip the Nova with a shimmering metallic finish reminiscent of standard-issue shotguns. Nova | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO) quickly established itself as one of the most accessible skins for new players, who could obtain it easily from the Italy Collection. During early CS:GO Majors, Army Sheen often appeared in matches as the default or budget skin choice, contributing to its recognition in broadcasts and among beginner-level players. While never a premium or rare item, community hype occasionally spiked when Italy Collection packages were made more available in special operations and events. With the transition to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Army Sheen retained its classic style and remained popular among those who value affordable skins or a military-style loadout. Its legacy is tied closely to its roots in the Italy Collection and its widespread presence in early CS:GO esports competitions.

How Rare Is the Nova | Army Sheen?

The Nova | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (light blue) skin, putting it among the most common rarity tiers. Its principal source is The Italy Collection, obtainable through opening Italy Collection Packages when they are available in-game, primarily during operations or special drops. CS2 (CS:GO) Nova | Army Sheen is not removed from the drop pool, but Italy Collection packages are less commonly awarded in recent operations, which can slightly affect supply. The rarity of Nova | Army Sheen is low, with a high probability of unboxing—substantially easier compared to higher-tier finishes. Unlike premium skins, it does not have a Souvenir version, and its odds remain among the best for collectors looking for a straightforward Nova upgrade. Despite its commonality, Nova | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO) maintains a steady baseline of popularity as a core choice for economical inventories.

Nova | Army Sheen Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The Nova | Army Sheen finish gives the shotgun a metallic, reflective coat with an olive drab base and subtle army-style compenents.
Pattern difference: As this is a solid color finish, Nova | Army Sheen pattern differences are minimal—the main appeal is the consistent, militaristic appearance.
Effect of float: Nova | Army Sheen float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.60, making it available in Nova | Army Sheen factory new, minimal wear, field-tested, well worn, and battle scarred conditions. Higher float values result in increased wear, primarily seen as dulling or minor scratches on the metallic surface.
Skin Features: Available in StatTrak™ and standard versions, and compatible with all five wear tiers.
Nova | Army Sheen factory new: This variant has a clean, reflective metallic finish with minimal blemishes. Nova | Army Sheen factory new conditions are the most visually appealing and trade at a slight premium, though prices remain low.
Nova | Army Sheen minimal wear: Almost as pristine as factory new, Nova | Army Sheen minimal wear retains most of the sheen with negligible scratches. A popular choice for value-oriented buyers.
Nova | Army Sheen Field Tested: There's visible dulling of the sheen and more evident wear, but the overall appearance remains intact.
Nova | Army Sheen well worn: Here, scratches and lost shine become prominent, but the shotgun maintains its army style.
Nova | Army Sheen Battle Scarred: Noticeable wear, faded sheen, and multiple abrasions; the army look persists, appealing to some for a more "battle-hardened" weapon.
Nova | Army Sheen StatTrak: Available in all wear levels, Nova | Army Sheen StatTrak features a digital kill counter. These command slightly higher prices, especially at lower floats.
Nova | Army Sheen finish and float value: The finish shines the most at lower floats (Factory New/Minimal Wear); higher floats create more evident aging. Price increases incrementally as sheen, and smoothness increase, especially for Nova | Army Sheen factory new and StatTrak versions.
