The History of the Negev | Sour Grapes in CS2 (CS:GO)

Negev | Sour Grapes in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by community artist Teo~ and added to the game on September 22, 2021, as part of the 2021 Train Collection released alongside Operation Riptide. The skin\'s playful motif immediately caught the attention of fans, bringing a light-hearted and colorful take to the Negev inventory. The skin began gaining traction during CS:GO Majors, especially as inventory expansions allowed more diverse skin choices in professional play. Social media and content creators helped boost hype, with videos and clips highlighting the distinctive design. While it did not reach the legendary status of more expensive weapon skins, it enjoyed a solid spot in user loadouts due to its unique appearance and availability. With the evolution from CS:GO to CS2 (CS:GO) Negev | Sour Grapes continues to be popular among players who appreciate its quirky aesthetic and cost-effectiveness, making it a consistent favorite in community servers and casual play.

How Rare Is the Negev | Sour Grapes?

The Negev | Sour Grapes in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade skin, one of the lowest rarities in the game. CS2 (CS:GO) Negev | Sour Grapes was originally obtainable through the 2021 Train Collection, which was available via Operation Riptide drops and train-themed packages. The rarity of Negev | Sour Grapes means it is relatively common when compared to high-tier skins, giving players decent odds of unboxing it from its respective collection package. It is not available as a Souvenir variant, so there are no special tournament edition odds. Although not particularly rare, its unique finish has enabled steady popularity, especially among budget-conscious collectors and those who enjoy themed loadouts. As of now, the skin remains available on skin marketplaces, and while supply is not endless due to collection rotation, it does not face the scarcity of discontinued premium skins.
