The History of the ★ Navaja Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ Navaja Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) was introduced as part of the Horizon Case update released on August 2, 2018. The Fade pattern, originally designed by Valve's in-house art team, quickly became one of the most recognizable and celebrated knife finishes due to its unique gradient blend of purple, pink, and gold.
Initially, the skin garnered attention for its high visual appeal and immediately became a highly-coveted item among knife enthusiasts. As its presence grew, the skin was often showcased during major CS:GO tournaments where professionals wielded it in high-stakes matches, further cementing its allure and elevating its value in the eyes of the community.
The period following several CS:GO Majors saw a surge in hype around the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Navaja Knife | Fade, with community trading forums and marketplaces frequently buzzing about rare "perfect" fade ratios. Collectors relentlessly pursued the optimal color fade percentage, intensifying demand.
With the transition to Counter-Strike 2, the knife retained its classic design and status, seeing renewed interest because of updated graphics and lighting, which highlighted its vivid colors even more dramatically. Its combination of legacy, visual brilliance, and exclusivity keeps the ★ Navaja Knife | Fade at the top of many players' wishlists to this day.

How Rare Is the ★ Navaja Knife | Fade?

The rarity of ★ Navaja Knife | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Covert, which is the rarest knife tier in the game. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Navaja Knife | Fade is obtainable from the Horizon Case and Danger Zone Case. It was not removed from the drop pool, but the odds of unboxing it remain extremely low, estimated at less than 0.26% for knives in general. There is no Souvenir version available for this skin, so all variants are standard or StatTrak.
Due to its gradient fade finish and strong demand, the skin continues to be extremely popular with both collectors and casual players. Its scarcity, coupled with the desire for ideal fade patterns, contributes notably to its high value and enduring status in the Counter-Strike marketplace.

★ Navaja Knife | Fade Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ Navaja Knife | Fade finish is a vibrant gradient that spans from gold to purple, making each knife unique depending on the pattern seed.
Pattern difference
The value and aesthetic of the skin can vary based on the fade percentage and where the colors are positioned. Collectors often hunt for high-percentage fades, particularly those with the most coverage of purple.
Effect of float
The ★ Navaja Knife | Fade float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.08, meaning it only drops in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions, making each knife exceptionally glossy with minimal wear.
Skin Features
The Fade finish is exclusive and does not change much visually across floats, but the StatTrak™ version tracks kill counts for added desirability.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade factory new: This is the most pristine condition, with sharp colors and little to no visible wear. It typically commands the highest price.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade minimal wear: Nearly identical in look to Factory New, minimal wear has barely perceptible scratches and a slightly lower price.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade Field Tested: This skin does not drop in Field Tested, Well Worn, or Battle-Scarred, making it limited to only the two highest conditions.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade well worn: Not available for this skin because of its restricted float range.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade Battle Scarred: Also not possible – no Battle Scarred versions exist.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade StatTrak™: The StatTrak version is rarer and significantly more valuable, tracking kills and dramatically increasing collectibility. Its pricing is generally higher than the standard fade due to added exclusivity.
★ Navaja Knife | Fade float value: With a float value capped at 0.08, the finish remains bright and almost spotless across all available variants.
