The History of the MP9 | Stained Glass in CS2 (CS:GO)

The MP9 | Stained Glass in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the Valve design team and made its first appearance as part of the 2018 Nuke Collection, which debuted during the FACEIT London Major. Its stylized stained-glass motif set a new standard for artistic detail in industrial-inspired weapon skins. When it was released, the skin quickly gained attention for its refreshing, colorful pattern, rare for SMG skins at that time.

Its rise to fame was cemented during CS:GO Majors, where its appearance in viewer souvenir packages and tournament prize pools drove community hype. Many players sought to unbox or trade for the MP9 | Stained Glass, especially as pros and streamers began equipping the skin in high-profile matches.

With the transition to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Stained Glass retained its allure, thanks to new lighting and rendering upgrades that made its colors pop even more. The skin enjoys sustained popularity, appealing to collectors who value its historical background as well as competitive players looking for an eye-catching yet affordable option.

How Rare Is the MP9 | Stained Glass?

The MP9 | Stained Glass in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Classified (pink) rarity skin, making it one of the rarer drops from the 2018 Nuke Collection and later in the Paris 2023 Nuke Souvenir Package. The CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Stained Glass cannot be unboxed from standard weapon cases and is only obtainable through collection packages tied to specific tournament events or map drops. This exclusivity impacts the supply and increases overall demand. The rarity of MP9 | Stained Glass means its unboxing odds are quite low, and with no souvenir version having ever been released, collectors must primarily seek regular options. Due to its limited availability and high visibility in both public and pro matches, the skin remains popular among fans, often rising in price after major events remove it from the drop pool.
