The History of the MP9 | Shredded in CS2 (CS:GO)

Design and Origin
The MP9 | Shredded in CS2 (CS:GO) was crafted by Valve’s in-house design team. Debuting on August 14, 2013, as part of the eSports 2013 Collection, its shredded orange and brown pattern instantly set it apart from other SMG skins of that period.
Appearance and Rise to Prominence
Upon its release, the skin was featured in eSports cases and soon became a popular pick in the growing Counter-Strike skin market—notably for its unique color palette and strong visibility in competitive play. The skin gained further hype during the early CS:GO Majors where budget-friendly loadouts were common, leading to a spike in popularity among both casual and aspiring professional players.
Community Hype and CS2 Transition
The MP9 | Shredded saw waves of community enthusiasm, especially during periods when eSports cases rotated as event drops. The skin’s enduring appeal kept its demand relatively stable even as newer, more complex finishes entered the market. Transitioning into CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Shredded maintained its reputation, enjoying a loyal following from players who appreciate nostalgic or colorful skins. Its legacy as a staple for entry-level and collectible inventories cements its continuing popularity in today’s landscape.

How Rare Is the MP9 | Shredded?

The rarity of MP9 | Shredded in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as “Mil-Spec Grade”, making it a relatively common drop when compared to higher-tier skins. The CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Shredded can be found in the eSports 2013 Case, and it has not been removed from the drop pool, ensuring ongoing availability.
As a Mil-Spec skin, the probability of unboxing MP9 | Shredded is much higher than rarer finishes, with estimated odds around 79.92% for a Mil-Spec weapon in each case. There is no Souvenir MP9 | Shredded version available, so odds only apply to standard and StatTrak variants.
Despite being common, MP9 | Shredded is popular due to its affordability and legacy status, maintaining steady transaction volumes and visibility in trade forums. Its rarity level and continuous drop supply help keep this skin accessible for both newcomers and longtime collectors.

MP9 | Shredded Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern Description
The MP9 | Shredded finish boasts a sharp "torn camo" motif in orange and brown, mimicking rips across the weapon’s frame. The pattern does not have major differences between pattern seeds, so each skin looks very similar regardless of float.
Effect of Float
The MP9 | Shredded float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, supporting all five traditional wear levels and delivering visible wear progression as the float increases. Lower floats maintain bright colors, while higher floats show noticeable wear and fading.
MP9 | Shredded Factory New
MP9 | Shredded factory new versions feature very vibrant and clear detailing with little to no visible wear. Prices usually hover at the top end for this skin.
MP9 | Shredded Minimal Wear
The MP9 | Shredded minimal wear variant displays extremely subtle blemishes, and remains visually close to factory new but is more affordable.
MP9 | Shredded Field Tested
This level typically shows mild abrasions and slight color dulling, making it one of the most popular and cost-efficient options.
MP9 | Shredded Well Worn
The MP9 | Shredded well worn version bears significant surface scratches and paint chipping, fading much of the original brightness while remaining recognizable.
MP9 | Shredded Battle Scarred
MP9 | Shredded Battle Scarred is heavily worn, with extensive discoloration and pattern erosion; this is the cheapest wear available.
MP9 | Shredded StatTrak
Both regular and StatTrak versions are available in all conditions, where StatTrak items display a kill counter and typically fetch a slight price premium in every wear tier.
MP9 | Shredded finish is consistent in appearance, aside from expected wear levels, making float value and StatTrak features the major influencers for price and desirability.
