The History of the MP9 | Goo in CS2 (CS:GO)

The MP9 | Goo in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Community artist "Maxim Fantossy" (also known as "Graff"), and released on September 3, 2018 as part of the '2018 Nuke Collection,' which debuted during the FACEIT London 2018 Major. Its initial appearance made waves in the community due to its bold, slimy look, quickly gaining a cult following among fans of vibrant and offbeat cosmetics.
Much of its rise to fame is tied to its inclusion in Major tournament drops, where players were excited to obtain the CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Goo. As the years went on, this skin became a favorite for trading and showcasing, especially during periods when Nuke collection drops were in the spotlight. Major hype within the community was seen during Valve-sponsored tournaments, with several pro matches showing off the skin in action.
With the transition to CS2, the MP9 | Goo maintained its appeal thanks to high-resolution upgrades, keeping it a staple for players seeking style combined with performance. Its legacy remains strong, as it continues to be a top pick for SMG users and skin collectors alike.

How Rare Is the MP9 | Goo?

The MP9 | Goo in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Restricted-tier skin, making it more difficult to acquire than Industrial or Mil-Spec alternatives. The CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Goo can only be obtained from the 2018 Nuke Collection package, which significantly impacts its supply and overall rarity. Rarity of MP9 | Goo has increased over time as the 2018 Nuke Collection was removed from the active drop pool, making new unboxings rare.
There is no Souvenir version of this skin, so unboxing odds are limited to standard collection packages. Due to its distinctive appearance and limited drop source, it has sustained healthy popularity, with frequent requests in trade circles and a loyal following among skin enthusiasts.

MP9 | Goo Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
MP9 | Goo finish features a unique design inspired by toxic goo in vibrant green and purple hues placed over a dark base. The MP9 | Goo finish shows consistent coloration, with little variation in the goo pattern across different float values.
Effect of float
The MP9 | Goo float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.50, making the skin available in all standard wear levels, from Factory New to Battle-Scarred.
Factory New
The MP9 | Goo Factory New skin offers a pristine look, with bright, intact colors and virtually no scratches. This version is favored by collectors, reflected in its higher price.
Minimal Wear
In MP9 | Goo Minimal Wear, minor abrasions start appearing, mainly on high-contact areas. Despite slight wear, the colors remain bold, and this condition is often a cost-effective choice for those wanting near-mint visuals.
Field-Tested
The MP9 | Goo Field Tested variant shows clearer signs of use, with larger patches of wear but retains most of its design detail. This is a common condition in marketplaces and offers a balance between price and aesthetics.
Well-Worn
MP9 | Goo Well Worn skins exhibit noticeable fading and scratches across the weapon. While the goo effect remains recognizable, the skin appears battle-experienced—a favorite for players who enjoy a rugged aesthetic.
Battle-Scarred
The MP9 | Goo Battle Scarred variant has extensive abrasion, with the goo design significantly diminished and muted. This condition is typically the most affordable among all wear levels.
StatTrak™ versions
The MP9 | Goo StatTrak editions are available for all conditions, providing kill tracking functionality. MP9 | Goo StatTrak increases the skin’s collectability and market price, especially in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Prices can fluctuate based on demand for StatTrak™ counters and the desirability of the skin.
MP9 | Goo float value plays a crucial role in precise pricing, with lower floats fetching higher prices in the market, especially when combined with rare patterns or stickers.

MP9 | Goo Price & Market Value
