The History of the MP9 | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO)

The MP9 | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the Valve development team as part of the Dust 2 Collection, debuting on August 14, 2013, with the Arms Deal Update. Inspired by the sandy hues and military hardware aesthetic of Dust II, the skin features a brushed aluminum look that aligns perfectly with the map's theme.

While it debuted with little hype, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Army Sheen gained steady popularity, especially during major map campaigns and trade-up trends. It saw rapid circulation at CS:GO Majors as players attempted to complete Dust 2 collections for a shot at higher-tier skins like the AWP | Desert Hydra (and, previously, the AWP | Dragon Lore in the now-removed Cobblestone Collection). Community excitement spiked during operations or Majors that featured Dust 2 souvenir packages.

With the launch of CS2, the MP9 | Army Sheen continued its legacy as a common but cherished choice—especially for budget-conscious players and collectors wanting to evoke classic Counter-Strike themes. Its availability in collection packages and affordable price point have ensured its ongoing presence both in casual games and the inventories of professionals.

How Rare Is the MP9 | Army Sheen?

The MP9 | Army Sheen in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade skin, making it an easily accessible option compared to rarer weapon finishes. The CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Army Sheen can be obtained via the Dust 2 Collection, which is frequently included in souvenir packages and collection drops during special events and operations.

Although it's not a rare drop by odds—being Industrial Grade—it does hold value for collection purposes. The rarity of MP9 | Army Sheen lies not in its scarcity but in its role as a trade-up ingredient for higher-tier Dust 2 skins. It has never been removed from drop pools, so its supply remains steady. Souvenir versions, however, are more limited, obtainable only during select Major tournaments with Dust 2 in the active map pool, making these particular variants more desirable among dedicated collectors. The odds of unboxing a souvenir version are low due to the overall standard souvenir package mechanics. Despite its commonality, its popularity remains strong thanks to usability in trade-ups and its classic aesthetic.

MP9 | Army Sheen Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The MP9 | Army Sheen finish features a metallic, brushed aluminum look that is uniform across all skins, reinforced by its military, no-nonsense appeal.

Pattern difference: Unlike many colorful or patterned skins, the Army Sheen's appearance remains consistent regardless of pattern index.

Effect of float: The MP9 | Army Sheen float value spans from 0.00 to 0.50, allowing it to exist in all conditions except Factory New, as it is capped at Minimal Wear.

Skin Wear Levels:
MP9 | Army Sheen Minimal Wear: This is the best condition available for this skin, as MP9 | Army Sheen Factory New does not exist. Minimal abrasions are visible, but the metal finish is very clean. MP9 | Army Sheen Minimal Wear versions are the most desirable and fetch slightly higher prices, typically ranging between $0.10 and $0.30 USD.

MP9 | Army Sheen Field Tested: Slightly more abrasions and noticeable wear, especially along the prominent edges. Still widely available, making it a popular pick for budget collections. The price is typically below $0.10.

MP9 | Army Sheen Well Worn: Surface scratches and wear become more apparent. The metal looks increasingly dulled. The price is almost identical to Field Tested, usually under $0.10.

MP9 | Army Sheen Battle Scarred: This version exhibits the most obvious signs of wear, with the brushed aluminum losing its shine and showing deep abrasions. Still, it maintains structural skin integrity. MP9 | Army Sheen Battle Scarred is usually the lowest priced, very common, available under $0.10.

MP9 | Army Sheen StatTrak: StatTrak™ versions are available and track kill counts, adding a digital counter to the weapon. Given the skin's Industrial Grade rarity, MP9 | Army Sheen StatTrak is modestly more expensive, with Minimal Wear StatTrak™ versions hovering around $0.40-$0.75. The MP9 | Army Sheen StatTrak Field Tested or lower are even more affordable.

The uniform MP9 | Army Sheen finish ensures minimal visual variation, making float and wear less of a defining factor except for price and slight abrasion differences.

MP9 | Army Sheen Price & Market Value

MP9 | Army Sheen price in CS2 (CS:GO) is among the lowest for SMG skins, making it extremely accessible. The CS2 (CS:GO) MP9 | Army Sheen Minimal Wear version usually sells for around $0.10-$0.30, while Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred versions often cost less than $0.10.
