The History of the MP7 | Olive Plaid in CS2 (CS:GO)

The MP7 | Olive Plaid in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Valve’s in-house art team as part of the game’s community-inspired collections. First introduced to the game on July 1, 2014 during Operation Breakout, this skin arrived as a member of the Inferno Collection. Over time, the MP7 | Olive Plaid gained moderate popularity, especially among players who enjoy the retro aesthetic and subtle detailing. This skin’s unique plaid pattern echoed classic tactical camo, which resonated with a nostalgic audience and collectors alike. While it never achieved the massive hype of high-tier skins, MP7 | Olive Plaid still saw increased interest during certain periods, especially when Inferno-themed events or CS:GO Majors were active. Its solid design and connection to one of the most iconic Counter-Strike maps helped it maintain a steady fanbase. When the transition from CS:GO to CS2 occurred, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP7 | Olive Plaid maintained its loyal following, as players continued to appreciate its blend of simplicity and tactical style. Its association with classic Counter-Strike gameplay and accessible price point have ensured it remains a favorite among collectors and nostalgic veterans.

How Rare Is the MP7 | Olive Plaid?

The MP7 | Olive Plaid in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (Light Blue) skin, which makes it one of the more common skins in the game. CS2 (CS:GO) MP7 | Olive Plaid is exclusively available as part of the Inferno Collection, which drops as a reward from in-game operations or souvenir packages, but it was NEVER included in traditional weapon cases. Over time, as the Inferno Collection has been phased out or made less accessible, the rarity of MP7 | Olive Plaid has increased somewhat, but it is still relatively easy to obtain compared to higher-tier skins. There is no Souvenir MP7 | Olive Plaid available, so odds of unboxing a Souvenir version are zero. The popularity of the skin remains moderate among players who prefer affordable, classic looks, and while it is not the rarest, some collectors value it due to its Inferno Collection legacy.

MP7 | Olive Plaid Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The MP7 | Olive Plaid finish coats the SMG in olive green and brown plaid, giving it a military-inspired, muted look. The pattern remains consistent across the float spectrum.

Effect of float: The MP7 | Olive Plaid float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, allowing the skin to appear in all five standard conditions. As the float increases, visible scratches and wear marks develop, especially on the body and magazine, but the essential plaid design remains recognizable.

Skin Features: The skin is available in non-StatTrak and MP7 | Olive Plaid StatTrak versions. StatTrak adds a digital kill counter to the weapon, usually increasing demand and price.

Factory New: The MP7 | Olive Plaid factory new offers the cleanest and sharpest plaid pattern with minimal to no visible wear. This version is preferred by collectors seeking pristine aesthetics and is priced at the higher end of the range.

Minimal Wear: MP7 | Olive Plaid minimal wear maintains most of the pattern's integrity, with only slight abrasions on edges. Price is only slightly lower than Factory New, making it a top choice for practical players.

Field-Tested: The MP7 | Olive Plaid Field Tested option shows additional surface scratches and more noticable wear but retains good color quality. It's the most traded condition due to optimal price-to-appearance balance.

Well-Worn: MP7 | Olive Plaid well worn displays heavy fading and scratches. It’s typically cheaper and appeals to those who appreciate a true battle-worn aesthetic.

Battle-Scarred: MP7 | Olive Plaid Battle Scarred shows significant wear, with heavy losses of paint and muted tones. This version is the lowest-priced option, suitable for budget-conscious players.

StatTrak™ versions: Every wear level is also available in MP7 | Olive Plaid StatTrak. These track kill counts, are rarer, and can be quite a bit pricier than their standard counterparts.

Pattern difference: There is little to no pattern variation between floats, preserving consistent visual appeal.
