The History of the MP7 | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO)

The original Fade pattern was created as part of the classic CS:GO skin update, with Puffin credited as the designer of the MP7 | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO). This iconic skin first debuted with the Prisma 2 Case on March 31, 2020, and quickly became a beloved item among fans for its sleek, radiant gradient finish. The MP7 | Fade started garnering significant attention during the CS:GO Majors, particularly as pro players and influencers began showcasing it on live streams and tournaments. The community hype surged in 2020, driven by its aesthetic appeal and increasingly limited availability.

Upon transition into Counter-Strike 2, CS2 (CS:GO) MP7 | Fade maintained its prestige, with its vibrant, shifting color pattern looking even more stunning in the updated Source 2 engine's visuals. As both a collectible and a status symbol, the skin's popularity continues to rise, cementing its reputation as one of the most iconic MP7 skins in CS history. Despite frequent releases of new cases, the MP7 | Fade has retained its cult following, making it a skin that seasoned collectors and aspiring esports professionals keep at the top of their wishlist.

How Rare Is the MP7 | Fade?

The rarity of MP7 | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Classified, making it a rare drop from the Prisma 2 Case. As a result, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP7 | Fade is not obtainable through regular gameplay or random drops and must be unboxed from this specific case. The rarity of MP7 | Fade is further heightened by the fact that Prisma 2 Case drops have become less frequent, increasing the skin’s scarcity and driving up demand. The odds of unboxing an MP7 | Fade are quite low due to its Classified status, making it an exclusive acquisition for most players.

There is currently no Souvenir MP7 | Fade, and unboxing this skin with high float values or in Factory New condition is even rarer. Its vibrant fade pattern and scarcity in active drop pools contribute to its high popularity and desirability in the market. As Prisma 2 Cases phase out or become less common, the MP7 | Fade continues to stand out as a rare and valuable addition to anyone’s inventory.

MP7 | Fade Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The MP7 | Fade features a stunning fade finish, presenting a smooth transition of metallic colors, including purple, pink, gold, and orange, along the body of the SMG. The brilliance and vibrancy of the MP7 | Fade finish are what make this skin uniquely captivating in CS2 (CS:GO).

Pattern difference
Pattern index does not affect this fade finish; all MP7 | Fade skins display a consistent color gradient.

Effect of float
MP7 | Fade float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.08, so it is only available in Factory New and Minimal Wear conditions. Skins with lower float values appear more vibrant and undamaged, making them much more valuable. Because the float cap is so limited, you will never see an MP7 | Fade Field Tested, MP7 | Fade Well Worn, or MP7 | Fade Battle Scarred version.

Skin Wear Levels Explained
MP7 | Fade Factory New: Float values 0.00–0.06. This is the rarest and most valuable form of the MP7 | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO), featuring perfect color consistency and no visible wear. Collectors and pro players often seek this version as a premium inventory item.

MP7 | Fade Minimal Wear: Float values 0.06–0.08. Minimal differences from Factory New, though slight microscopic abrasions might be visible upon close inspection. The price for Minimal Wear is a bit lower but remains highly sought after.

MP7 | Fade StatTrak: Factory New and Minimal Wear versions have StatTrak™ variants, allowing kill tracking. StatTrak MP7 | Fade variants are significantly rarer and command premium prices.

MP7 | Fade Field Tested, Well Worn, Battle Scarred: These wear levels do not exist for the MP7 | Fade, as its float value does not reach those thresholds. If you encounter a listing for any of these, it’s likely a mistake.

In summary, the MP7 | Fade finish is only available in its two top tiers, making both standard and StatTrak versions prime collector’s items in CS2 (CS:GO).

MP7 | Fade Price & Market Value

MP7 | Fade in CS2 (CS:GO) commands a premium price due to its rarity and visual appeal. On the Steam Community Market and third-party sites, MP7 | Fade price for Factory New typically ranges from $110 to $160 USD. The Minimal Wear version sees slightly lower prices, often between $90 and $120.

A StatTrak™ MP7 | Fade price in Factory New can exceed $230, while StatTrak™ Minimal Wear is usually priced around $180-$210. There is no Souvenir version available, so collectors look exclusively for premium float values and sometimes rare sticker combinations. Factors that influence the MP7 | Fade price include float value, presence of StatTrak™, and highly desirable stickers.

How much is the MP7 | Fade? As of 2024, the CS2 (CS:GO) MP7 | Fade ranges from $90 for well-worn Minimal Wear up to $230 or more for StatTrak Factory New. Is MP7 | Fade worth buying? If you value rarity and eye-catching skins, MP7 | Fade offers strong long-term collector appeal and remains a favorite for many players, with a steady upward price trend over time.
