The History of the MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket in CS2 (CS:GO)

MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by an artist from the Steam Workshop known as "SHADOW", who is recognized for bringing natural elements to weapon skins. The skin made its first appearance with the launch of the Prisma 2 Collection on March 31, 2020. Its design incorporates a stylized forest motif, emphasizing organic patterns and earth tones, which quickly set it apart from other SMG skins. While not immediately a headline skin at major tournaments, the CS2 (CS:GO) MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket started gaining traction during several CS:GO Majors, especially as budget loadouts became more popular. Community hype occasionally surged around this skin, particularly with the growing appreciation for nature-themed and affordable skins that still offer a unique look.

As Counter-Strike 2 launched, the Poplar Thicket transitioned seamlessly and maintained its affordable and visually appealing reputation. Although not the centerpiece in broadcasted matches, its rising popularity among budget-conscious players and skin enthusiasts ensures it remains a staple in many inventories, especially those seeking to complete the Prisma 2 Collection.

How Rare Is the MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket?

The MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Mil-Spec (blue) grade skin, making the CS2 (CS:GO) MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket one of the more accessible options in terms of unboxing odds. Rarity of MAC-10 | Poplar Thicket stems from its availability in the Prisma 2 Case, which is still openable and part of active drop pools. As a Mil-Spec item, the chance of unboxing it is around 79.92% for any blue skin, though the odds for this particular pattern are divided among other Prisma 2 Collection blues. There is no Souvenir version for this skin, which keeps its rarity limited only to standard and StatTrak™ drops.

Its wide availability and remaining presence in case rotations have resulted in a large supply, maintaining lower price points. Despite this, its popularity with new players keeps it frequently traded and in high demand.
