The History of the MAC-10 | Graven in CS2 (CS:GO)

Who designed the MAC-10 | Graven? The MAC-10 | Graven was created by Valve's in-house team and released as part of The Aztec Collection.

Appearance history: The skin was first introduced to CS:GO on August 14, 2013, alongside the "Arms Deal" update. It features intricate engravings reminiscent of Aztec stone carvings, echoing the ancient mysteries of the Aztec map.

Rise to fame during CS:GO Majors: The MAC-10 | Graven in CS2 (CS:GO) quickly gained popularity among competitive players when it was part of the loot pool for souvenir packages. Its unique aesthetic and association with iconic events made it a hot topic during early Majors.

Community hype: Interest in the Graven spiked whenever the Aztec Collection was made available, and it routinely fueled discussions about map-specific drops.

Transition into CS2: With the implementation of CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) MAC-10 | Graven remains a legacy item. As the Aztec map and its collection were retired, the skin’s prominence in player inventories has only increased, cementing its status as a classic skin valued by both traders and players.

How Rare Is the MAC-10 | Graven?

The MAC-10 | Graven in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as an Industrial Grade (Light Blue) skin, placing it at the lower end of the rarity spectrum. However, its exclusivity stems from its original source: it was exclusively available in The Aztec Collection, which was tied to drops when playing on the Aztec map and as part of souvenir packages for competitive events. Since the removal of Aztec from the Active Map Pool and the retirement of its collection, the CS2 (CS:GO) MAC-10 | Graven can no longer be unboxed or dropped in-game.

Rarity of MAC-10 | Graven has thus increased, as supply is capped and new additions to the market are limited to player resales. Souvenir versions were available from event drops, but are now extremely scarce. The probability of unboxing a standard or Souvenir MAC-10 | Graven is now zero, adding to their collector appeal. This scarcity and the historical context have kept the Graven’s popularity steady, especially with traders and skin enthusiasts.

MAC-10 | Graven Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The MAC-10 | Graven finish is inspired by ancient Aztec artwork, featuring sophisticated engravings and stone-like motifs etched across the weapon. Its detailed design remains consistent across all pattern indexes.

Pattern difference: The visual appearance does not change depending on the pattern index, so all MAC-10 | Graven in CS2 (CS:GO) skins look largely the same, regardless of the float.

Effect of float: The MAC-10 | Graven float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, making it available in every wear level: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. As wear increases, the engraved details fade, with heavier scratches and more visible wear in higher float ranges.

Skin Features by Wear Level:
MAC-10 | Graven Factory New: Virtually flawless, the engraved patterns are sharp and clearly visible. These are highly valued, carrying a premium price as they are increasingly rare.
MAC-10 | Graven Minimal Wear: Minor abrasions, with most detailing intact. These offer an excellent balance between cost and appearance.
MAC-10 | Graven Field Tested: Noticeable scratches and wear start to appear, especially on the high-contact surfaces, but the engravings remain mostly defined.
MAC-10 | Graven Well Worn: Significant fading of the engravings, broader surface wear, and increasingly dull finish. These are less expensive but favored for a battle-hardened look.
MAC-10 | Graven Battle Scarred: Heavy wear, large scratches, and much of the detailing is obscured. The history of the skin is visible here, often resulting in a low price.
MAC-10 | Graven StatTrak: StatTrak versions track kills and can be found in all wear levels. These are typically more expensive and appeal to performance-driven players.
MAC-10 | Graven finish consistently delivers an ancient artifact vibe, regardless of float.
