The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained in CS2 (CS:GO) was introduced as part of "The Arms Deal" update in August 2013, and it was one of the first available knife skins upon the launch of CS:GO's skin system. The M9 Bayonet was designed by the Valve weapon artist team, and the Stained finish was inspired by a process that gives steel a mottled, battle-worn appearance using acid etching, providing a rugged yet stylish look. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained quickly gained recognition due to its military realism and unique pattern variations, making each knife slightly different. Its popularity surged during several CS:GO Majors, where top players and streamers wielded it during high-stakes matches, fueling significant community buzz and demand. The Stained finish was never tied to a specific souvenir drop, yet its visibility in trade showcases and pro inventories made it highly desirable. As Counter-Strike transitioned to CS2, the ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained maintained its relevance, appealing to those seeking a classic, subtly elegant blade. Today, the knife enjoys evergreen status within the community, balancing prestige, nostalgia, and accessible market value.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained?

The rarity of ★ M9 Bayonet | Stained in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Covert (red), which is the highest tier for knife skins. Its popularity and prestige keep its demand strong among traders, collectors, and players, ensuring it retains significant value and recognition in the CS2 marketplace.

Factory New versions showcase the cleanest, brightest look with minimal surface scratches. These command premium prices, often selling for several hundred dollars or more.

Battle Scarred variants show extensive staining and wear, with a darker and rougher appearance. They are typically the most affordable, but some collectors prefer the rugged aesthetic.
