The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter in CS2 (CS:GO)

The design of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter in CS2 (CS:GO) pays tribute to modern art-inspired weapon finishes. Created by Valve’s in-house artists, this skin first appeared in August 2013 as part of the "Arms Deal" update which introduced weapon skins and knives to CS:GO. Its instantly recognizable red metallic surface with mesmerizing abstract patterns garnered attention during early CS:GO Majors. As professional players showcased the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter during tournament broadcasts, community hype surged, making it a fan favorite knife skin. Collectors, traders, and enthusiasts began seeking out rare versions with specific patterns such as hearts or diamonds, driving market speculation and reinforcing its elite status. With the transition into Counter-Strike 2, the ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter retained its visual brilliance thanks to updated lighting and rendering, cementing its continued relevance and popularity among both long-time collectors and new CS2 players. Its enduring desirability is further bolstered by social media showcases and content creators, making the skin an iconic part of CS2's skin economy.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter?

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert knife skin, making it one of the rarest drops available from weapon cases. It can be unboxed from classic cases like the "Chroma" and "Huntsman" weapon cases, though its chances are extremely low—estimated at less than 0.26% to unbox a covert knife. Since the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter was removed from active drop pools in recent case updates, supply has been significantly limited, which increases its rarity and market value over time. There is no Souvenir ★ M9 Bayonet | Slaughter variant, adding an exclusivity to owning standard versions. Due to its coveted status, the skin is frequently highlighted on trading platforms and is known for being a wishlist item among fans, giving it impressive popularity and demand in the CS2 community.
