The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by Valve's in-house art team and introduced as part of the original "Arms Deal" update released in August 2013 for CS:GO. Its mesh-camouflage finish, inspired by real military camouflage netting, instantly set it apart from other flashy knife skins, gaining traction for its grounded, pragmatic appearance. The skin became more desired following its visibility during CS:GO Majors, where pro players were seen wielding the ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh during intense matches and highlight reels. During several community hype peaks, this skin became a staple of “budget knives” discussions and gained respect due to its combat-ready visual and frequent pro use rather than pure aesthetics. When the transition to CS2 took place, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh transitioned smoothly and retained its loyal fanbase. In CS2, its enduring appeal continues as many players appreciate its minimalistic camo appearance, with the skin remaining an accessible and recognizable option that is both collectible and playable across casual and competitive play.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh?

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) is a Covert-grade (red) knife skin that can be unboxed from the original CS:GO Weapon Cases, Weapon Case 2, and Weapon Case 3. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh was never removed from drop pools, meaning it's still obtainable through most of the early weapon cases. The rarity of ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh means extremely low odds of unboxing it—estimated at less than 1% per case, similar to other knives from these collections. There is no official Souvenir ★ M9 Bayonet | Safari Mesh, as knives are not included in Souvenir packages. Despite being one of the more affordable knife skins, it is very popular among both novice and experienced players due to its classic look and the prestige of wielding an M9 Bayonet. Its sustained availability and steady demand keep it consistently circulated in the market, but its rarity as a knife ensures it remains a prized drop.
