The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Night in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Night in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the Valve art team as part of the original knife skin collection introduced in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The skin first appeared on August 14, 2013, with the introduction of the "Arms Deal" update, marking the beginning of the skin economy era. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Night quickly gained popularity for its unique deep blue, almost black finish, which set it apart from other knife skins. It was available from some of the earliest cases, notably the "CS:GO Weapon Case" and "CS:GO Weapon Case 2". Throughout CS:GO Majors, the knife became synonymous with top-tier inventories and was often showcased by professional players during high-stakes matches, fueling community hype and helping establish its legendary status. As CS:GO transitioned into CS2, the skin retained its popularity, seamlessly moving into the new game with improved visual fidelity. Due to its strong association with the early days of CS:GO skins and its presence in countless highlight reels, the ★ M9 Bayonet | Night holds a special place in the memories of long-time players and continues to be a status symbol in CS2.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Night?

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Night in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert knife skin, making it one of the rarest items available in the game. Players could originally obtain it from the "CS:GO Weapon Case" and "CS:GO Weapon Case 2", both of which are now discontinued, increasing the skin's scarcity on the market. As a result, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Night is no longer obtainable from any active drop pool, significantly driving up its rarity and exclusivity. The probability of unboxing this knife is extremely low, estimated at less than 0.26% per case, with no Souvenir versions ever released. Its classic, all-dark-blue appearance has contributed to its sustained popularity, making it a sought-after piece for collectors, traders, and high-profile players. Given its rarity and the shrinking supply due to case retirements, the Rarity of ★ M9 Bayonet | Night is considered among the highest tiers in the knife skin category.

★ M9 Bayonet | Night Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The ★ M9 Bayonet | Night finish is characterized by a stealthy, matte midnight blue coating on the blade and guard, creating an understated elegance perfect for those seeking a tactical look.

Pattern difference: The skin has minimal pattern variation, which means each knife looks quite similar, contributing to its consistent appeal.

Effect of float: The ★ M9 Bayonet | Night float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, influencing wear and price. Lower floats ensure deeper color and less visible wear, while higher floats increase scratches and fading, especially at the blade's edge.

Battle-Scarred: The ★ M9 Bayonet | Night Battle Scarred showcases heavy abrasions and a noticeably faded appearance. As the cheapest option at $550–$600 USD, it is sought after by budget collectors.

StatTrak™ versions: The StatTrak ★ M9 Bayonet | Night includes a kill counter, significantly boosting collectability and price. StatTrak™ items in each wear level sell for $150–$300 USD more than their non-StatTrak counterparts.
