The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand was designed by the Valve art team, released as part of the Gamma 2 Case update in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in August 2016. Its distinctive doodle-style finish quickly captured the community's imagination. Initially, it wasn't an instant classic, but its popularity surged during high-profile CS:GO Majors and tournaments as players and streamers began showcasing the skin during matches. The intricate white patterns hand-drawn across a vibrant purple and blue blade became symbolic of creative expression within the Counter-Strike community. Community hype peaked around 2017-2018, especially as professional players started equipping the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand during tournament play, elevating its desirability. When CS2 was launched, the transition was seamless, and the ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand in CS2 (CS:GO) regained attention due to graphic upgrades and refined animations, ensuring it retained its status as a must-have for serious collectors and stylish players alike. Its ongoing popularity and its legacy from CS:GO to CS2 have ensured it remains a staple among prestigious knife skins.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand?

With its unique finish and collectible status, the skin enjoys consistently high demand, especially among fans of rare and expressive knife skins.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand finish features a vibrant purple and blue blade, decorated with white graffiti-like doodles and symbols. Each skin's pattern index can cause slight variations in the style and placement of these doodles, making some patterns more coveted than others.

Effect of float
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.48, supporting all wear levels from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. Higher floats add visible scratches and wear, dulling the vivid contrast between colors.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand factory new
This version boasts a nearly flawless, glossy finish with vibrant doodle designs and almost no visible wear. It's the most expensive, often exceeding $700 USD due to rarity and demand.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand minimal wear
Remains visually close to Factory New with only slight abrasions. These are popular among players seeking premium quality at a slightly reduced price compared to Factory New.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand Field-Tested
This condition shows mild to moderate wear, with scratches visible along the blade but the doodle pattern remaining prominent. It offers a balance between look and value.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand well worn
This version features more obvious abrasions and faded areas, impacting the vibrancy of the colors. Prices for Well-Worn are lower, but the pattern can still look appealing for budget collectors.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand Battle Scarred
The design is significantly scratched and worn, with dulled colors and reduced glossiness. This is the most affordable version, popular with players seeking the skin at the lowest cost.

★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand StatTrak
StatTrak™ variants of each wear level are rare and display a kill counter on the blade, often commanding a premium of 20-40% over non-StatTrak versions.

Skin Features
The unique combination of graffiti doodles and intense purple makes the ★ M9 Bayonet | Freehand finish stylish at any wear level. The float value and StatTrak status greatly affect both price and collector value.
