The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby in CS2 (CS:GO) was originally designed by the Valve development team as part of the Doppler skin series, which launched with the "Chroma" Case on January 8, 2015. This case introduced a lineup of stunning knife finishes, with the Ruby phase quickly emerging as one of the rarest and most visually captivating.

Upon its release, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby immediately gained traction among both pro players and collectors. During major CS:GO tournaments, viewers and fans eagerly watched for flashes of the deep-red Doppler Ruby blade in the hands of famous names, which contributed to surges in demand and community hype. Periods surrounding Major tournaments, especially when high-profile streamers and pros unboxed or showcased Ruby knives, saw spikes in search volume and record sales.

As Counter-Strike transitioned to CS2, the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby retained its elite reputation, with improved visual fidelity in CS2 making its gemstone-like finish more coveted than ever. Its enduring popularity in both competitive matches and trading circles underscores its lasting legacy as a dream item for skin enthusiasts.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler?

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby in CS2 (CS:GO) is considered among the rarest knives in the game. It is obtained exclusively through the Chroma, Chroma 2, and Chroma 3 Cases, and belongs to the Covert (red) rarity tier—the highest for knives. Since it is a Doppler Phase 2 – Ruby variant, the drop chance is extremely low, with only a small fraction of all Doppler M9 Bayonet unboxings resulting in a Ruby. Furthermore, it has never been available as a Souvenir skin, further limiting its supply. Over time, the removal of Chroma cases from active drop pools has caused the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby to become even more scarce, intensifying its desirability and value across the community.

With its legendary status, extreme rarity, and consistent demand among collectors and top-tier players, the Rarity of ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby is unmatched by most other skins. The probability of unboxing one is estimated to be less than 0.05%, making every appearance of the skin in-game a notable sight.

★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby finish features a brilliant ruby-red blade with a subtle metallic shimmer, distinguished by its uniform, gemstone-like color.

Pattern difference
The Ruby phase is part of Doppler Phase 2, and while some slight differences can exist between patterns, most Ruby variants are characterized by a pure or nearly pure red tone. Pattern index affects the blade's gradient placement, but there are no significant "max red" or "fake ruby" variants—the finish is the important factor.

Effect of float
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby float value can range from 0.00 to 0.08, meaning it is available only in Factory New and Minimal Wear. As float increases, very minor scratches may appear, but for most Ruby knives the visible difference is minimal.

Skin Features
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby finish does not drastically change across patterns, and its iconic red color is the defining feature. Only FN and MW are available, adding to exclusivity.

StatTrak™ versions
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby StatTrak variant adds a digital kill counter, dramatically increasing rarity and price. ★ M9 Bayonet | Doppler Ruby StatTrak is available only in Factory New and Minimal Wear, mirroring the base skin's float restrictions.
