The History of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the Valve art team, following the successful style formula of the 'Crimson Web' finish used on several weapon and knife skins throughout the franchise. First released on August 14, 2013, as part of the "CS:GO Weapon Case" collection, it immediately caught the eye of the community, blending a menacing blood-red base with a hand-painted black spider web overlay.

The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web skyrocketed in popularity during several Major tournaments, when pro players and famous streamers would unbox or showcase the skin during high-stakes matches. Clips featuring the skin quickly went viral, significantly boosting its in-game prestige and desirability. The skin saw massive hype during certain community events and market booms, particularly in periods where knife unboxing videos trended on YouTube and Twitch.

When CS:GO transitioned to Counter-Strike 2, the M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web retained its appeal, owing to enhanced graphics and lighting that made the signature red and web pattern even more visually impressive. Today, the skin remains an enduring favorite amongst both veteran collectors and new players eager to own a piece of Counter-Strike history.

How Rare Is the ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web?

The ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert knife, making it one of the rarest items obtainable from weapon cases. This skin can be found in the "CS:GO Weapon Case," "CS:GO Weapon Case 2," and "CS:GO Weapon Case 3"—each of which is now discontinued and removed from active drop pools, greatly limiting new supply.

The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web has an extremely low drop rate, with an estimated unboxing likelihood of roughly 0.26% for knives—making the odds minuscule for acquiring the Crimson Web pattern specifically. There is no Souvenir version of this skin, meaning pro-signature variants do not exist. Nevertheless, the skin remains highly coveted due to its striking design and infamy within the CS community. Demand continues to soar for Crimson Web, especially in Factory New and low-float forms, and its disappearance from drop pools has made it scarcer and more valuable over time.

★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web finish features a vivid red coating over the blade with a hand-painted, irregular black spider web pattern, giving each skin a slightly unique web structure depending on the pattern index.

Pattern difference
The rarity of full web patterns—where the spider web aligns centrally on the blade—increases demand and value. Each ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web finish can vary slightly, with more visible webs generally being favored.

Effect of float
The ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, making this skin available in all wear levels. Lower float values keep the red coat rich and unblemished, while higher floats introduce scratches and fading.

Skin Features
Rare pattern positioning and ultra-low float values significantly increase the skin’s desirability. All versions, including StatTrak™, are available.

Factory New: ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web factory new is exceedingly rare, with most of these skins showcasing minimal wear. Prices can exceed several thousands of dollars, especially with centered web patterns. The blade appears flawless and vibrant.

Minimal Wear: ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web minimal wear offers slightly more affordable pricing, though still premium. Light scratches may appear on closer inspection, but overall the blade remains bold and eye-catching.

Field-Tested: ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web Field Tested skins show visible wear and have a more faded red coating. This version is considerably less expensive, making it popular among collectors on a budget.

Well-Worn: ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web well worn has clear scuffs and faded patches, reducing both price and visual impact but providing a battle-hardened look for enthusiasts.

Battle-Scarred: ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web Battle Scarred exhibits heavy scratches and significant paint loss. This is the most budget-friendly option, though rare pattern/web positioning can still command a price premium.

StatTrak™: The ★ M9 Bayonet | Crimson Web StatTrak variant tracks kills and is available across all wear levels, usually selling at a 10–30% premium over non-StatTrak versions, especially in Factory New or Minimal Wear.
