The History of the Galil AR | Vandal in CS2 (CS:GO)

Galil AR | Vandal in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by the talented community artist “SHPR”. The skin first made its in-game appearance on April 24, 2023, as part of the Anubis Collection, which launched during CS:GO’s final days and seamlessly transitioned into CS2’s collections.

The skin’s urban "Vandal" theme, with vibrant red graffiti accents, quickly gained traction among players and was frequently showcased during the later CS:GO Majors, making it a favorite in the Galil AR skin lineup. During periods of high community engagement, such as the Anubis Collection’s debut or notable pro matches, discussion around the Vandal soared on social platforms and marketplaces.

After the release of CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Galil AR | Vandal maintained and even expanded its popularity, thanks to the engine’s improved lighting that enhances the skin’s visual punch. The skin’s rise throughout professional tournaments and community events underlined its relevance, proving its lasting influence and status as a modern classic in the Counter-Strike world.

How Rare Is the Galil AR | Vandal?

Galil AR | Vandal in CS2 (CS:GO) comes from the Anubis Collection, which is a non-case collection introduced alongside the Anubis update. The rarity of Galil AR | Vandal is classified as Restricted (pink), making it the second highest rarity in its collection.

The CS2 (CS:GO) Galil AR | Vandal cannot be unboxed from traditional cases, but is instead obtainable through opening Anubis Collection Packages when they are available. Since these packages are not always accessible except during certain events (e.g. Major souvenir drops or limited-time in-game offers), the supply is somewhat more limited, driving moderate rarity.

While the regular Galil AR | Vandal has decent availability on the Steam Market, there is no official Souvenir version, so ultra-rare collectible variants do not exist. With a steady, though not excessive, stream entering circulation, its drop probability is in line with other Restricted skins, making it a desirable and popular pick in its category.
