The History of the Galil AR | Shattered in CS2 (CS:GO)

The creator behind the iconic Galil AR | Shattered is Valve’s in-house design team, first releasing it as part of the Arms Deal 2 Collection in 2013 during the early days of CS:GO. The appearance history of the Galil AR | Shattered in CS2 (CS:GO) is rooted in its visually unique cracked glass motif, which quickly helped it stand out among other Galil AR skins.
The skin rose to modest fame during CS:GO Majors, where it would occasionally make appearances in the inventories of up-and-coming pros, especially when budget rounds were essential. Its vibrant teal-blue shatter pattern lent an energetic vibe to tournaments and drew community attention, especially during case openings and low-budget skin showcases on YouTube and Twitch.
During transitional periods—such as the launch of new collections or major tournaments—the skin would experience spikes in hype thanks to influencers and streamers highlighting it as a top value pick. When CS:GO transitioned to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Galil AR | Shattered retained its authentic look while benefitting from the Source 2 engine's improved lighting and coating effects, renewing its popularity with both veteran and new players. Today, it remains a well-known entry-level skin valued for its history and distinct appearance.

How Rare Is the Galil AR | Shattered?

The Galil AR | Shattered in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Mil-Spec (blue) skin, making it a relatively common drop compared to rarer grades. The CS2 (CS:GO) Galil AR | Shattered is obtainable from The Arms Deal 2 Collection and is also available via trade-up contracts. The Rarity of Galil AR | Shattered means that it is not considered particularly rare, and its average drop probability when unboxing collections is higher than more exclusive skins. It has never been removed from drop pools, ensuring a steady supply in the market.
There are no Souvenir versions of this skin, so players do not have the chance to unbox exclusive tournament-branded variants. Nonetheless, the skin enjoys consistent popularity due to its low price and attractive design, making it a frequent pick in public and trade lobbies. While it is not considered a trophy item, its evergreen availability means it's a popular choice for new skin collectors.

Galil AR | Shattered Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The Galil AR | Shattered finish is defined by a vibrant, bluish-turquoise "shattered glass" motif spread across the body, giving the rifle a fractured, aggressive look.
Pattern difference: The design remains consistent across all pattern seeds, so each skin is visually similar regardless of the pattern index.
Effect of float: The Galil AR | Shattered float value ranges from 0.00 to 0.65, making the skin available in Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred conditions. High float values lead to increased visible wear, mostly as faded or chipped areas in the shattered overlay.
Skin Features: The skin is available as both a regular and StatTrak™ version.
Galil AR | Shattered Factory New: This tier offers crisp, vivid colors and nearly no wear. The Galil AR | Shattered factory new version is the most sought after by collectors, generally commanding the highest price for this skin (usually around $1.50-$2.00).
Galil AR | Shattered Minimal Wear: Slight scuffs begin to appear, but the finish is still vibrant. Galil AR | Shattered minimal wear is nearly indistinguishable from Factory New and remains a popular choice due to its cost-efficiency.
Galil AR | Shattered Field-Tested: Noticeable wear starts to set in, especially around the edges. The Galil AR | Shattered Field Tested version is perfect for budget-conscious players who want a visually appealing skin at a bargain price.
Galil AR | Shattered Well Worn: Galil AR | Shattered well worn displays further fading and scratches, creating a more rugged, vintage effect for those who prefer battle-scarred aesthetics.
Galil AR | Shattered Battle Scarred: The most worn version, Galil AR | Shattered Battle Scarred has severe fading and muted colors. It is the least costly but appeals to those who enjoy extreme wear.
Galil AR | Shattered StatTrak™: The StatTrak™ version enables players to track kills in-game. Both Galil AR | Shattered StatTrak and regular versions are available in all wear levels, although StatTrak™ models fetch a slight price premium due to the added feature.
