The History of the Five-SeveN | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO)

The design for the Five-SeveN | Case Hardened was originally created by Valve's internal art team. It debuted on August 14, 2013 as part of the Arms Deal Update, making it one of the earlier and most celebrated pistol skins in CS:GO. The skin became instantly recognizable for its randomized blue, gold, and purple hardened steel patterning, which mimics the look of heat-treated metal. Five-SeveN | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO) grew in fame as players quickly realized that specific patterns—featuring large blue or gold areas—became especially coveted and could fetch a high price. This skin gained further notoriety during CS:GO Majors, with several pros opting for it in crucial rounds, cementing its visibility in the competitive scene. The community frequently hyped the skin during "pattern hunts," with users seeking the most blue-dominated finishes, which are notoriously rare. Upon the transition from CS:GO to CS2, the CS2 (CS:GO) Five-SeveN | Case Hardened retained all its visual flair and appeal. As rendering tech improved, the skin's unique pattern variability only became more pronounced, boosting its popularity among new players and long-time collectors alike.

How Rare Is the Five-SeveN | Case Hardened?

The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Classified (Pink) grade skin, which is already one of the rarer types in the pistol category. CS2 (CS:GO) Five-SeveN | Case Hardened can be obtained from the Operation Bravo Case only, which has long been discontinued, making new supply extremely scarce. The rarity of Five-SeveN | Case Hardened is further accentuated by its randomized pattern, where some 'all-blue' or 'blue gem' variants are vastly more desirable and rare than typical patterns. The chance of unboxing a Classified skin from the Bravo Case is low, and for the highly-coveted blue gem, the probability is even slimmer, virtually ensuring exceptional variants fetch very high prices. There is no Souvenir version available, which slightly restricts some rare signatures and tournament associations. Still, Five-SeveN | Case Hardened remains very popular and is heavily sought after, especially in the collector and trading community.

Five-SeveN | Case Hardened Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
Five-SeveN | Case Hardened finish features a metallic hardened steel appearance, with blue, gold, and purple patches in swirling, randomized patterns. Each individual skin's pattern—often referred to as the "pattern index"—is unique, with blue-dominant "blue gem" patterns being the rarest and most desired.

Pattern difference:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened finish can look dramatically different based on its pattern index, with some featuring more blue or gold surfaces. Float value further impacts visual appeal, with higher wear revealing more of the underlying gun.

Effect of float:
Five-SeveN | Case Hardened float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, allowing the skin to be obtained in all conditions from Factory New to Battle-Scarred.

Skin Wear Levels:
Factory New:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened factory new variant has almost no scratches, vibrant colors, and clean edges. Usually the most expensive, especially with unique or blue gem patterns.

Minimal Wear:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened minimal wear shows slight fading at the edges, but still retains a pristine look. Prices are a bit lower than Factory New but still can be high for rare patterns.

Field-Tested:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened Field Tested is more budget-friendly, with visible wear but still lots of color. Collectors generally prefer lower-float Field-Tested patterns for value.

Well-Worn:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened well worn has significant scratches and more subdued colors. Prices decrease further, though extremely rare patterns can still carry a premium.

Battle-Scarred:
The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened Battle Scarred appears heavily worn with much of the finish faded. Only highly unique or blue gem patterns are prized at this level.

StatTrak™ versions:
Five-SeveN | Case Hardened StatTrak options track in-game kills and are valued higher than non-StatTrak counterparts. Their price is also influenced by pattern, float value, and condition.

The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened float value and the inherent pattern variability are the two most influential factors on final price, especially among veteran collectors.

Five-SeveN | Case Hardened Price & Market Value

Five-SeveN | Case Hardened price can vary dramatically depending on condition, specific pattern, and whether it's a StatTrak™ version. Factory New editions typically range from $180 to $600, with some Five-SeveN | Case Hardened blue gem patterns commanding thousands of dollars. Minimal Wear variants usually sell between $120 and $350, while Field-Tested versions range from $80 to $200. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred conditions are generally the most affordable, often priced between $50 and $150 depending on desirability of the pattern.

Souvenir options are not available for this skin, so pro player signatures are limited to sticker additions. The Five-SeveN | Case Hardened price is significantly affected by float value and the percentage of blue on the surface—"blue gem" patterns in any wear are dramatically more expensive. StatTrak adds a notable premium, especially for Factory New or Minimal Wear versions.

How much is the Five-SeveN | Case Hardened? As of 2024, Factory New blue gem StatTrak models have been sold for over $7,000, while standard Field-Tested skins can be purchased for less than $200. Is Five-SeveN | Case Hardened worth buying? If you’re a collector or love rare and eye-catching skins, this skin is definitely a sound investment and a CS2 classic.
