The History of the ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed as part of the original Bayonet knife series, implemented during the Arms Deal update in August 2013. Its simplistic, mesh-patterned finish is credited to the Valve art team, who sought to evoke the look of field-camouflaged military equipment. Upon release, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh featured in multiple weapon case drops, quickly gaining traction among players due to its accessible price and the allure of owning a knife. The skin surged in popularity during various CS:GO Majors as pros often showcased the Bayonet for its practical in-game animation and reliability. Community hype further spiked during Operation Bravo and subsequent major content drops, as players sought affordable knife options. With the transition to CS2, the ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh retained its devoted fanbase, adapting seamlessly to updated graphics and continuing to attract both new and seasoned collectors thanks to its classic military look and historical significance.

How Rare Is the ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh?

The rarity of ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as Covert, which is the highest rarity designation for knives. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh is obtainable from classic weapon cases such as the "CS:GO Weapon Case", "CS:GO Weapon Case 2", and others from the early Arms Deal era. As more cases are retired from active drop pools, the supply of this skin gradually shrinks, adding incremental rarity, especially in pristine conditions. The probability of unboxing a ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh remains extremely low (roughly 0.26% per case), and there is no official Souvenir version available. The skin maintains steady popularity due to its affordability compared to flashier knives, and remains a common sight among both casual and professional players.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh finish features an olive drab base overlaid with a mesh stencil, generating a rugged, military-inspired camo effect.

Pattern difference
The visual appearance can subtly vary based on the specific mesh alignment and float, but overall, pattern index does not significantly impact value.

Effect of float
The ★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, allowing availability in all wear levels from Factory New (FN) to Battle-Scarred (BS). Lower floats mean less visible wear, while high floats accentuate scratches and fading.

Skin Features
The skin is available as both StatTrak and standard versions, providing kill tracking functionality for StatTrak variants, and comes in all five wear levels.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Factory New:
This is the rarest and most desirable condition. Minimal wear makes the mesh pattern fully visible, and prices are distinctly higher. FN variants appeal to collectors.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Minimal Wear:
Offers near-pristine appearance with slight abrasions. It is a popular balance between price and quality.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Field-Tested:
This version has noticeable edge wear and faded camo, but remains appealing for budget buyers and is widely available.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Well-Worn:
Heavy wear is visible, with more pronounced scratches and dull finish. This tier has a lower price, appealing to players seeking functionality over appearance.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh Battle-Scarred:
Extensive surface wear with much of the pattern faded, often the most affordable tier.

★ Bayonet | Safari Mesh StatTrak:
All conditions can be found with StatTrak, which significantly raises value, especially in better wear levels, as it adds a tracked kill counter feature.

The combination of wear level, float value, and StatTrak modifies both the appeal and price significantly, with Factory New StatTrak variants commanding the highest prices in the market.
