The History of the ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened was designed as part of the original Case Hardened knife series, introduced with the "Arms Deal" update in CS:GO on August 14, 2013. The skin's distinct, randomized blue/gold/purple pattern was conceived by Valve, offering endless visual variety based on the pattern index.
Since its debut, the ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO) became a status symbol at pro tournaments and Majors, thanks to rarity and the allure of "blue gem" patterns. As market awareness grew and famous players started showcasing rare patterns, demand and hype soared throughout 2014-2017, leading to skyrocketing prices and legendary trades documented on YouTube and Reddit.
The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened enjoyed an effortless transition into Counter-Strike 2, further cementing its place as one of the most admired and desired knife skins in the franchise. Its ongoing popularity is fueled by influencer showcases and established community fascination with rare, vividly blue variants.

How Rare Is the ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened?

The ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert (red) knife skin, making it one of the rarest drops from cases. It is available in cases such as the CS:GO Weapon Case, CS:GO Weapon Case 2, and CS:GO Weapon Case 3.
The skin was never removed from drop pools but remains extremely elusive due to the miniscule odds—less than 0.26% per case for any knife, and an even lower chance for the coveted blue gem patterns.
There are no Souvenir versions of the ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened.
The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened is famous for its dazzling color patterns and the rarity of all-blue blades (blue gems), which only appear at specific pattern indices and are highly valued by collectors, intensifying its desirability and market price.

★ Bayonet | Case Hardened Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened finish features a randomized, vibrant pattern of blue, gold, and purple hues that covers the blade. The specific color mix is dictated by the pattern index, making each skin unique.
Pattern difference
Some pattern indices create the highly coveted "blue gem," where nearly the whole blade appears blue, significantly boosting the skin's value.
Effect of float
★ Bayonet | Case Hardened float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, allowing all wear levels. The blue and gold pattern remains visible even at high float values, but scratches and wear will be noticeable primarily at the edges.
Skin Features
Each pattern is unique, and the blue-dominant variants command premium prices. The finish is one of the most recognizable and coveted among bayonet knives in CS2.
Wear levels:
Factory New: ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened factory new skins have vivid, flawless colors with minimal to no scratches. These are the most expensive due to perfect finish and pure color patterns. Rare blue gems in this tier are highly prized.
Minimal Wear: ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened minimal wear presents slight abrasions mainly at the tip and edges. The colors remain bold, and this tier is common for collectors looking for value.
Field-Tested: ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened Field Tested shows more pronounced scratches along the blade. Color vibrancy is still high; blue gems in this condition are still expensive but less so than FN/MW.
Well-Worn: ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened well worn features extensive edge wear and dulled hues. It's more affordable but still sought after for unique blue patterns.
Battle-Scarred: ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened Battle Scarred displays heavy fading and multiple scratches, but rare patterns still appeal to enthusiasts. Collectors may seek these for specific blue configurations.
StatTrak™ versions: The ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened StatTrak adds a kill counter, increasing the price. Availability mirrors the regular versions—the rarer the pattern and lower the wear, the higher the premium. StatTrak blue gems are extremely costly.
In summary, the ★ Bayonet | Case Hardened finish and its float value together determine the skin's price, especially for unique blue-dominated variants.
