The History of the ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest in CS2 (CS:GO)

The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest in CS2 (CS:GO) was first introduced on August 14, 2013, as part of the game’s original Arms Deal update, featuring a design influenced by classic military bayonets and created by the Valve art team. The skin’s distinctive camouflage pattern draws inspiration from real-life woodland camo combinations, intended for tactical effectiveness and a rugged field look. Initially, it gained attention due to the rarity of knife drops and the excitement surrounding the Arms Deal cases.

The Bayonet | Boreal Forest’s popularity surged during key CS:GO Majors, where it was showcased by top players and admired for its simplicity and affordability. Community hype intensified in periods where case openings became popular, fueling demand for all knife skins. With the transition into Counter-Strike 2, the CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest retained its following, benefitting from refreshed lighting and enhanced models in the new engine. Today, it stands as a legacy item cherished by veteran collectors, pro players, and camo enthusiasts alike.

How Rare Is the ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest?

The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert (Knife) rarity, making it one of the rarest tier items in standard weapon cases. The CS2 (CS:GO) ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest is available in “The Arms Deal Case” and other classic weapon case drops, but knife drops are generally extremely rare, with less than a 1% chance per case opening. It has never been removed from drop pools, ensuring a steady but low supply. There are no Souvenir versions for this skin, so all Bayonet | Boreal Forest knives are standard or StatTrak™ variants. The rarity of ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest, paired with its classic military design, makes it an evergreen choice—particularly among those who appreciate camo aesthetics or seek accessible entry-level knife options. Its enduring popularity and consistent appearance in the market underscore its respected status within the CS2 community.

★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description
The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest finish displays an olive drab camouflage pattern with irregular patches of brown and green, simulating real-world woodland army camouflage. The look is rugged and functional, blending with most camo-themed inventories.

Pattern differences
The camouflage is randomly distributed, so every Bayonet | Boreal Forest has a unique look depending on the pattern seed, though there are no rare pattern ‘special’ variants identified.

Effect of float
The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest float value ranges from 0.06 to 0.80, making it available in all conditions. Higher float values result in more visible scratches and edge wear, especially on the blade.

Skin Features
Bayonet | Boreal Forest comes in all the standard wear levels plus a StatTrak™ variant, but does not offer a souvenir version.

Factory New
★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest factory new showcases the camouflage in its freshest state, with almost no visible scratches. It is the rarest and priciest version, appealing to collectors and investors due to the minimal wear.

Minimal Wear
The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest minimal wear version may display slight blade edge wear, but retains most of its original finish. It is a popular choice among players who want near-mint looks at a slightly more affordable price point.

Field-Tested
The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest Field Tested variant features mild scratches and abrasions, especially on the blade tip and handle. This condition balances price and appearance for practical players.

Well Worn
★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest well worn skins show significant losses of the camo pattern, with the edges and main face noticeably worn. This option is more budget-friendly and often purchased by those who enjoy a battle-hardened aesthetic.

Battle-Scarred
The ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest Battle Scarred displays the most damage—major areas have the finish scraped away, giving the knife a truly weathered, well-used look.

StatTrak™ versions
Every wear level can be found as a ★ Bayonet | Boreal Forest StatTrak edition, which tracks kills and typically sells at a premium. The StatTrak counter is especially attractive to players who want both functionality and uniqueness.

Prices vary sharply by wear, StatTrak status, and float value, allowing a wide choice for all budgets.
