What Is the AWP | Wildfire?

The AWP Wildfire is a high-tier skin released during the Operation Wildfire update in CS:GO, which celebrated one of the most iconic operations in the game’s history. It was originally introduced in the Operation Wildfire Case, making it a special addition to the AWP lineup.
The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP Wildfire skin is famous for its bold design featuring a blazing fire dragon wrapping around the rifle’s body, an artwork that stands out in competitive play. Due to its rarity and visual appeal, it has become one of the most recognized sniper skins in CS2.
The AWP Wildfire collection offers different wear conditions ranging from Factory New (highly sought after and more expensive) to Battle Scarred (more affordable but still visually striking). Each version has its own float value, which influences the appearance and cost. Players also create unique AWP Wildfire crafts by applying rare stickers, further boosting their prestige and AWP Wildfire price in the trading market.
Overall, the Wildfire AWP represents a perfect mix of status, collectability, and performance, making it a must-have for serious CS2 players and skin collectors.

The History of the AWP | Wildfire in CS2 (CS:GO)

The AWP Wildfire was first introduced on October 18, 2019, as part of the CS20 Case, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Counter-Strike. Its fiery dragon design was inspired by the Operation Wildfire logo, instantly making it one of the most recognizable skins in the game. From the very beginning, the CS2 (CS:GO) AWP Wildfire caught the attention of both casual players and professionals, quickly becoming a fan favorite in competitive matches and tournaments.

Over time, the AWP Wildfire collection grew in popularity thanks to its striking visuals and rarity. Players sought it in different conditions, from the flawless AWP Wildfire Factory New to the more budget-friendly Battle Scarred. Each condition comes with a unique float value that impacts the skin’s appearance and overall price, making it an attractive option for both traders and collectors.

With the release of CS2 on the Source 2 engine, the Wildfire AWP received a visual upgrade. Enhanced textures, improved lighting, and a richer color palette emphasized the fiery details of the skin, giving it a second wave of popularity. Today, the AWP Wildfire cost reflects its prestige, making it one of the most iconic and sought-after sniper rifle skins in the entire CS2 marketplace.

How Rare Is the AWP | Wildfire?

The AWP | Wildfire is a Covert rarity skin, making it one of the rarer and more desirable sniper rifles in CS2 (CS:GO). It is available in both the standard version and a StatTrak™ variant, which allows players to record their kill count. This skin can only be obtained from the CS20 Case, and the odds of unboxing it are very slim around 0.64%, meaning only the luckiest players will manage to pull one directly.

Thanks to its fiery dragon artwork, rich color palette, and prestige in the trading market, the AWP Wildfire is consistently ranked among the top AWP skins and is often highlighted in lists of the best dragon-themed CS2 skins. Its combination of rarity, design, and collectability ensures that it remains a prized addition to any player’s inventory.

AWP | Wildfire Wear Levels and Conditions

AWP | Wildfire is available to players in all possible wear levels from Factory New to Battle-Scarred. As the float value increases (which is capped at 0.70), the visual appeal of the AWP | Wildfire skin changes noticeably. Starting from 0.22, which corresponds to the Field-Tested version, the bright flames fade, and the black-red background loses its color. In general, the surface of the weapon is covered with abrasions and patina. The overall saturation and flames on the body suffer especially badly. For players who value the perfect condition of the skin, the Factory New and Minimal Wear versions are suitable. By the way, these versions are ideal for investing and collecting.

AWP | Wildfire Price & Market Value

AWP | Wildfire is not the most budget-friendly AWP skin, but it is worth the money. The value of Wildfire is determined by its rarity, popularity, beauty, and, of course, the degree of wear and StatTrak support. The basic version of the AWP | Wildfire in Factory New condition can cost a player about $133, and for the version with the StatTrak counter, you will have to pay about $260. AWP | Wildfire Minimal Wear costs about $74, and the StatTrak version is about $150. The Field-Tested version is priced at an average of $46 and about $97, with the StatTrak function. The more shabby Well-Worn costs about $43, and with frag tracking - up to $100.

The Battle-Scarred is considered the most budget-friendly: the price starts at $42, and can exceed $100 if the skin is equipped with StatTrak. Thanks to this price range, AWP | Wildfire remains an attractive choice for both beginners and budget collectors.

H2: Why Is AWP | Wildfire So Popular?

AWP | Wildfire has become a favorite among many players due to its bright design and strong symbolism. The sniper rifle with a fiery dragon and rich shades of red, yellow, and black makes it the perfect choice for those who want to demonstrate strength and determination in the match. The skin goes well with accessories in a fiery and dark palette, such as Driver Gloves | Overtake, Sport Gloves | Big Game, Sport Gloves | Nocts, Sport Gloves | Slingshot, Specialist Gloves | Crimson Kimono, and others. In addition, CS2 (CS:GO) AWP Wildfire can be easily complemented with fantasy, anarchy, or flame-themed stickers to create individual looks. This visually powerful approach inspires players and adds confidence in every game. Buy CS2 (CS:GO) skins based on your preferences and dreams of combining them with other in-game items.

What Is the Souvenir AWP | Wildfire

Souvenir skins in CS2 (CS:GO) are special versions awarded during major tournaments, often featuring pro team stickers and commemorative match details. However, there is no Souvenir version of AWP | Wildfire in CS2 (CS:GO). As such, collectors focus on acquiring regular and StatTrak editions, as the skin has not been featured in tournament drop pools or associated with pro player autographs. If you're seeking a Wildfire with high collector value, focus on pristine float and StatTrak options instead.

Famous Players & Streamers with AWP | Wildfire

Several popular streamers and community figures, such as OhnePixel and Anomaly, have showcased the AWP | Wildfire in their inventories and livestreams, often highlighting its bold and fiery design. While it's not the signature skin of any particular top-tier esports player as of 2024, its flashy aesthetics have led to widespread use among high-level players looking to make a statement in-game. Content creators featuring the AWP | Wildfire have contributed to its enduring popularity, attracting fans who admire both its appearance and in-game prestige.

Alternatives to AWP | Wildfire

AWP | Wildfire is not the only skin with the theme of dragons and fire in CS2. If you are interested in it, then you should also pay attention to such skins as M4A4 | 龍王 (Dragon King), P2000 | Imperial Dragon, SG 553 | Dragon Tech, SSG 08 | Dragonfire. But of course, the main competitor of AWP | Wildfire is AWP | Dragon Lore. AWP | Dragon Lore is a very expensive skin, which is also available in the Souvenir version. Its cost can be several thousand dollars.

How to Get a AWP | Wildfire

There are several ways to obtain the AWP Wildfire in CS2 (CS:GO). The most direct option is opening the CS20 Case, which was released for Counter-Strike’s 20th anniversary. However, the drop chance for a Covert skin is extremely low, around 0.64% making this method unreliable if you’re targeting a specific condition such as Factory New or Battle Scarred.

For that reason, many players prefer to buy the AWP Wildfire directly. You can purchase it on the Steam Market, but third-party trading platforms often provide better prices and discounts across different wear levels, from Minimal Wear to Battle Scarred.

Another option is using trade-up contracts, where you combine multiple skins of the same rarity to receive one of a higher class. With the right planning and float calculations, this method can be a cost-effective alternative to case openings—though it still carries some risk.
