The History of the AWP | The Prince in CS2 (CS:GO)

The AWP | The Prince skin was designed by the renowned workshop artist 2Minds and officially introduced in CS:GO as part of the The Canals Collection on March 29, 2019. Its appearance immediately captivated the Counter-Strike community, featuring a regal deep red base accented with fine gold calligraphy and flourishes, giving the weapon a unique, majestic aura.

The skin surged in popularity during CS:GO Majors, largely thanks to its stunning looks and extreme rarity. As collectors and pro players showed off their new acquisitions, social media and trading forums buzzed with excitement, making AWP | The Prince in CS2 (CS:GO) a talking point across the esports scene.

Interest peaked during periods when newly introduced collections drove up both hype and market value, as players realized the exclusivity of the skin's drop sources. Transitioning into Counter-Strike 2, the CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | The Prince retained its allure, with enhanced lighting and graphics bringing out even more depth in the intricate artwork. Today, it remains a top choice for those who appreciate prestigious and visually opulent skins, cementing its legend both historically and stylistically.

How Rare Is the AWP | The Prince?

The AWP | The Prince in CS2 (CS:GO) skin is classified as a Covert rarity, one of the rarest skin tiers in CS2. The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | The Prince is exclusively available through the The Canals Collection and can only be obtained via operation drops, trade-ups, or the Steam Community Market—there is no standard case or souvenir drop for this skin. The rarity of AWP | The Prince is further amplified by its absence from active drop pools, restricting its natural supply and causing unboxing to be nearly impossible today. There is currently no Souvenir version, and the odds of acquiring one via a trade-up contract are exceptionally slim—estimated well below 1%, making it among the most elusive and coveted skins in the game. Its remarkable design and scarcity guarantee consistent demand and high desirability among traders and collectors alike.
