The History of the AWP | PAW in CS2 (CS:GO)

AWP | PAW in CS2 (CS:GO) was designed by community artist Guardian Gear and introduced to the game on August 2, 2018, as a part of the Horizon Case during the "A New Horizon" update. Its playful design immediately distinguished it from the more serious and tactical-themed AWP skins, featuring countless multi-colored paw prints and animal faces that made it instantly recognizable.
When it launched in CS:GO, the skin quickly gathered attention for its cute and lighthearted vibe—something rarely seen on an AWP. The skin gained widespread popularity during several CS:GO Majors, with professional and casual players alike equipping it for its vibrant look on broadcast matches. Community hype for the AWP | PAW often peaked during these large tournaments, especially as the Horizon Case remained active in the drop pool.
With the arrival of Counter-Strike 2, the skin transitioned seamlessly, preserving its visual charm and elevating its presence thanks to updated lighting and rendering in CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | PAW. Its continued use by many players and appearance in streams and matches reflect its enduring popularity, making it both a nostalgic and relevant AWP skin as the game evolves.

How Rare Is the AWP | PAW?

The AWP | PAW in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Classified rarity skin, making it one of the higher-tier obtainable drops. This skin was exclusively available through the Horizon Case upon its introduction and is not currently found in any new case drops, which gradually impacts its supply. The probability of unboxing a CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | PAW is estimated at about 3.2%, aligning with the typical odds for Classified-tier skins. There is no Souvenir version of this skin, so Souvenir odds do not apply.
Rarity of AWP | PAW ensures that even now the skin enjoys decent popularity, especially among budget collectors and fans of unique patterns. Its steady demand on the community market and third-party sites keeps it in regular circulation, although genuine mint conditions are becoming less common due to its removal from active drop pools.

AWP | PAW Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:
The AWP | PAW finish features a chaotic, colorful arrangement of cartoon animal paws and faces across the rifle’s body, giving it a cheerful and lively appearance. While it has no significant pattern variations, subtle placement differences may occur between individual skins.
Effect of float:
The AWP | PAW float value ranges from 0.00 to 1.00, allowing the skin to appear in all five standard conditions. AWP | PAW float value significantly impacts both visual wear and price—lower float value skins look cleaner and are generally more expensive.
Condition Levels:
AWP | PAW Factory New - Float range: 0.00–0.07. These come with the crispest and most vibrant graphics. AWP | PAW Factory New is sought after by collectors and commands a premium price.
AWP | PAW Minimal Wear - Float range: 0.07–0.15. Slight edge wear may be visible, but the overall design remains sharp and clear. AWP | PAW Minimal Wear offers great value for players wanting a nearly pristine look.
AWP | PAW Field Tested - Float range: 0.15–0.38. Noticeable scratches and fading appear, especially on high-contact areas, making AWP | PAW Field Tested a popular mid-range choice.
AWP | PAW Well Worn - Float range: 0.38–0.45. The finish shows significant wear, with major fading and dull colors. AWP | PAW Well Worn is less desirable but often cheaper.
AWP | PAW Battle Scarred - Float range: 0.45–1.00. The skin appears heavily used—graphic details are muted, and much of the finish is missing. AWP | PAW Battle Scarred is the most affordable option for budget-conscious players.
AWP | PAW StatTrak™ variants are available for each wear level, featuring a digital StatTrak counter that tracks kills made with the weapon. AWP | PAW StatTrak versions are always priced higher than their non-StatTrak counterparts. The AWP | PAW finish holds up well across variations, but price and collector’s demand are tightly linked to the float value and StatTrak feature.

AWP | PAW Price & Market Value
