What Is the AWP Mortis?

The AWP Mortis skin is a gothic-inspired design for the iconic AWP sniper rifle in CS2 (CS:GO). Featuring rich symbolism drawn from the Death Tarot card, the skin showcases a detailed skeleton wielding a scythe, cloaked in a golden robe, and surrounded by intricate patterns in deep red and black. This haunting imagery gives the AWP Mortis a distinctly mystical and sinister aesthetic, making it a popular pick among fans of darker-themed skins. Released by Valve in February 2018 as part of the Clutch Collection during the “Welcome to the Clutch” update, the AWP Mortis (CS:GO) CS2 is available in a full float range from 0.00 to 0.64. This means players can find it in all wear levels from Factory New to Battle-Scarred, providing plenty of options depending on budget and visual preference.

The History of the AWP | Mortis in CS2 (CS:GO)

From the first days of the skin's introduction into the game, AWP | Mortis received feedback from the community. The skin has an unusual design and a budget price, so it quickly gained fans not only among regular players but also pro players. Thus, AWP | Mortis is in the inventory of players such as Happy, apEX, and Maniac, which contributed to an even greater increase in interest in this skin.
With the transition of CS:GO to a new engine, interest in this skin has not faded. Thanks to the updated graphics and lighting, it began to look even more impressive, strengthening its status as an aesthetically pleasing and affordable skin for AWP.

How Rare Is the AWP | Mortis?

The AWP Mortis skin is a Classified rarity item, making it a relatively rare and highly sought-after option for CS2 (CS:GO) players. Available in both a standard version and the coveted StatTrak™ AWP Mortis, this skin not only delivers eye-catching visuals but also lets players track their kill count in real time.
The AWP Mortis (CS:GO) CS2 is exclusively obtainable through the Clutch Case, with a drop rate of approximately 3.2%. Its unique combination of rarity, symbolic design, and StatTrak availability has made the AWP Mortis a standout choice for collectors and competitive players alike.

AWP | Mortis Wear Levels and Conditions

The AWP Mortis skin is available in all five standard CS2 (CS:GO) wear conditions: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. As the skin’s float value increases, the weapon gradually shows signs of wear, colors darken, scuff marks appear, and the detailed imagery on the sight fades or disappears entirely. These changes can impact the overall visual appeal, especially for players who value aesthetics.
The AWP Mortis Factory New and Minimal Wear versions are considered the most visually striking. With a float value below 0.15, these skins preserve maximum color saturation, clean detailing, and full visibility of the skeleton and decorative elements even on the scope. This makes them a preferred choice among collectors and anyone looking to showcase a pristine loadout.

AWP | Mortis Price & Market Value

The AWP Mortis skin is one of the most affordable and visually appealing sniper rifle skins available in CS2 (CS:GO). Its price largely depends on the skin's wear level and whether it includes StatTrak™, which tracks in-game kills. If you're looking to buy AWP Mortis without breaking the bank, this skin offers excellent value for both collectors and competitive players.
Here’s a breakdown of the current AWP Mortis price by condition:

AWP Mortis Factory New: ~$7 (Non-StatTrak), ~$16 (StatTrak)

Minimal Wear: ~$3 (Non-StatTrak), ~$7 (StatTrak)

Field-Tested: ~$1.70 (Non-StatTrak), ~$4.70 (StatTrak)

What Is the Souvenir AWP | Mortis

Souvenir skins in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) are special versions awarded to celebrate major professional tournament matches, often featuring pro player signatures. However, AWP | Mortis in CS2 (CS:GO) does not have a Souvenir version. It cannot be unboxed with major tournament or player autographs, and therefore, there are no record-breaking sales or special tournament-themed Mortis skins to collect. For those seeking event memorabilia, you must look to other AWP skins.

Famous Players & Streamers with AWP | Mortis

While AWP | Mortis is not as commonly seen among top-tier esports pros as some legendary AWP skins, it has still found its way into the inventories of popular streamers and mid-tier pro players. Notably, streamers such as Anomaly and Mojo have showcased the Mortis skin in their loadouts and gameplay videos, boosting its popularity among fans. This visible exposure in streams and mid-level tournaments has contributed to Mortis' recognition and admiration within the wider CS2 community. Its approachable price allows a wide range of players and influencers to use and showcase it regularly, keeping it relevant and trendy.
