The History of the AWP | Man-o'-war in CS2 (CS:GO)

Who designed the AWP | Man-o'-war?
The AWP | Man-o'-war was designed by Valve's in-house artist team, embracing a regal blue and gold motif reminiscent of ancient weaponry and European navy insignias.

Appearance history
Introduced on January 8, 2015, as part of the Chroma Case in CS:GO, the AWP | Man-o'-war quickly attracted attention due to its ornate, royal-themed finish. The combination of deep blue lacquer with intricate gold accents offered a stylish alternative to more aggressive or flashy AWP skins, giving it a refined, vintage feel.

The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | Man-o'-war rose to prominence around major CS:GO tournaments, where prominent players showcased it in high-profile matches, sparking community hype and interest in the skin. Its regular appearances among professional inventories and on broadcast stages contributed significantly to its popularity during major eSports events.

With the transition to Counter-Strike 2, the AWP | Man-o'-war in CS2 (CS:GO) has maintained its legacy, benefiting from graphical improvements in the new engine. The skin continues to see demand, attracting both newer players and seasoned collectors, and it remains a symbolic representation of class and heritage among AWP finishes.

How Rare Is the AWP | Man-o'-war?

Rarity of AWP | Man-o'-war: The AWP | Man-o'-war in CS2 (CS:GO) is classified as a Covert skin, making it one of the rarer and more coveted drops from the Chroma Case.

The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | Man-o'-war can only be unboxed from the original Chroma Case, which increases its exclusivity since Chroma Cases have become less common over time. This restriction on drop sources ensures a more limited supply of the skin.

The probability of unboxing a Covert (AWP | Man-o'-war) from a Chroma Case is approximately 0.64%, making it a rare find for any player spinning cases. There is no Souvenir version of the Man-o'-war, meaning its value is exclusively determined by case drops and aftermarket sales. Its continued popularity stems from its sophisticated appearance and its relative rarity compared to other AWP skins. As Chroma Cases grow scarcer, the AWP | Man-o'-war is expected to maintain, if not increase, its value among traders and collectors.

AWP | Man-o'-war Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description:

Pattern difference:
The skin exhibits minimal pattern variance, ensuring uniformity in appearance.

Effect of float:
The AWP | Man-o'-war float value ranges from 0.10 to 0.50, making it available only as Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, and Battle-Scarred. There are no Factory New versions.

Skin Features:
The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | Man-o'-war stands out for its distinctive gold embellishments and striking color palette.

AWP | Man-o'-war Factory New:
There are no Factory New variants available due to the float range (minimum 0.10), making Minimal Wear the closest in pristine condition.

This is the most sought-after version, exhibiting minimal abrasions with crisp, vibrant gold. The price is significantly higher compared to lower conditions due to its near-pristine finish.

AWP | Man-o'-war Field Tested:
Field-Tested examples show slight wear, primarily on the edges and barrel, yet the pattern and gold designs remain highly visible. A good balance between quality and affordability.

AWP | Man-o'-war Well Worn:
These skins reveal more pronounced abrasions along the body, especially at the high-contact points. Some loss of vibrancy in gold details is observable.

AWP | Man-o'-war Battle Scarred:
The design becomes visibly faded, with scratches and duller gold elements. The lowest price, but also the most noticeable wear.

AWP | Man-o'-war StatTrak:
StatTrak models are available for all wear levels (except Factory New), including Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well Worn, and Battle-Scarred. StatTrak versions have an added kill counter and often command a significant price premium, particularly in higher conditions.
