The History of the AWP | Gungnir in CS2 (CS:GO)

Who designed AWP | Gungnir? The AWP | Gungnir skin was designed by the artist "Apel" as part of the Norse Collection.
Appearance history: Introduced to AWP | Gungnir in CS2 (CS:GO) on November 18, 2019, as part of Operation Shattered Web, the skin instantly became notable for its striking blue design and Norse mythology flair. Its artwork, inspired by Odin's legendary spear, guarantees instant recognition among the Counter-Strike community.
The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | Gungnir rose to fame after its release, picking up hype on social media and gaining traction during CS:GO Majors. Top professional players and renowned streamers started showcasing the skin, which amplified its popularity, desirability, and soaring price on the trading scene. The community's excitement only grew as supply remained limited due to its exclusive drop source.
With the transition of CS:GO into CS2, the skin's prestige was fully preserved. AWP | Gungnir in CS2 (CS:GO) maintained its elite status, holding strong among the most expensive and rare AWP skins. Today, it remains a symbol of status and excellence within the global CS2 community.

How Rare Is the AWP | Gungnir?

The AWP | Gungnir in CS2 (CS:GO) is among the rarest sniper rifle skins, classified as Covert rarity. The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | Gungnir is exclusively available from the Norse Collection, which is only accessible through opening Norse Collection Packages and cannot be obtained through regular cases.
The extreme scarcity of Norse Packages and the absence of the skin from any active drop pools significantly increase the rarity of AWP | Gungnir. With exceedingly low unboxing odds (below 1%) and no Souvenir version, it is considered one of the most exclusive AWP skins in CS2. High demand from both players and collectors ensures its popularity and maintains its status as a true grail item for AWP aficionados.

AWP | Gungnir Wear Levels and Conditions

Pattern description: The AWP | Gungnir features a blue and turquoise color scheme adorned with Norse knotwork and spear motifs, evoking the mythological spear of Odin. The AWP | Gungnir finish is visually stunning and instantly recognizable.
Pattern difference: The pattern index does not significantly affect the appearance; every version showcases the full Norse-themed design.
Effect of float: The AWP | Gungnir float value ranges from 0.00–0.50, so it’s available in all wear conditions. Higher floats cause more visible wear and fading on key parts of the artwork.
Wear Levels:
AWP | Gungnir Factory New: The pinnacle of collectibility and price, Factory New features vibrant colors and no visible wear. Its price is often upwards of $10,000.
AWP | Gungnir Minimal Wear: Slight abrasions might appear, but the skin retains most of its original glory. Prices generally range $6,000-$8,000.
AWP | Gungnir Field Tested: Noticeable fade and wear on key areas, yet still showcases the mythic spear design. Prices tend to fall in the $4,500-$6,000 range.
AWP | Gungnir Well Worn: Heavier wear is present; fading is evident, especially on the mid and barrel areas. This version is rarer to see but somewhat more affordable at $3,500-$4,500.
AWP | Gungnir Battle Scarred: Extreme wear and significant fading or scratches. Prices typically remain high due to the skin’s inherent rarity, ranging $2,500-$3,500.
StatTrak™ versions: AWP | Gungnir StatTrak is typically unavailable since the Norse Collection skins do not have StatTrak™ variants; thus, a StatTrak version does not exist for Gungnir.
Skin Features: Every condition is valuable, but AWP | Gungnir factory new and minimal wear command the highest prices due to their pristine aesthetics and collector value. The AWP | Gungnir finish makes it a centerpiece for any high-tier inventory.
