What Is the AWP | BOOM?

AWP | BOOM is a bright and playful skin in the style of pop art and comic aesthetics. Its design is dominated by a bright orange color, complemented by thick black lines and a recognizable explosive "BOOM!" from comics.

This skin was developed directly by Valve representatives. It was added to the shooter on August 14, 2013, as part of The eSports 2013 Collection. AWP | BOOM is presented in a fairly limited float value, from 0.06 to 0.28. Due to its expressiveness and charisma, the skin remains in demand on the market to this day.

The History of the AWP | BOOM in CS2 (CS:GO)

AWP | BOOM was designed by Valve artists and added to CS:GO on August 14, 2013, as part of The eSports 2013 Collection. Inspired by pop art and comic book themes, it features bold onomatopoeia and explosive graphics reminiscent of 1960s comic books. From its very first appearance, the skin stood out with its bright orange background and daring visual style, instantly attracting players looking for creativity and audacity on the battlefield.

Its release coincided with the rise of major CS:GO tournaments, where pro players began showcasing it during high-profile matches, cementing its reputation as a favorite among influencers, veterans, and collectors. Over time, AWP | BOOM became a cult classic, appearing in the inventories of renowned players like TACO, fer, and karrigan. As its collection was later removed from active drop pools, the skin grew rarer and even more desirable.

With the transition to Counter-Strike 2 and the Source 2 engine, the AWP | BOOM received a stunning visual upgrade, making its juicy orange hues and graffiti-inspired details pop even more. Today, it remains a legacy skin cherished by collectors, traders, and players alike, especially those building vibrant orange-themed loadouts or seeking a weapon with bold comic-book flair.

How Rare Is the AWP | BOOM?

AWP | BOOM is a skin that belongs to the Classified rarity and is one of the rarest skins for firearms in the shooter. Valve introduced it to the game as part of an update called "The Arms Deal".

AWP | BOOM is available to players in the StatTrak™ version. Support for such a feature allows the player to track the number of kills made with this weapon. In addition, such a counter gives the skin additional significance, both in combat and on the market. Thanks to its design, history and rarity, AWP | BOOM remains one of the most desired skins for the AWP in CS2.

AWP | BOOM Wear Levels and Conditions

AWP | BOOM is not available in all wear levels. Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred versions are not available. The float value of the BOOM skin starts from 0.06, which corresponds to the Factory New version. In this quality, the skin looks the most magnificent. Already in the float value of 0.07, the Minimal Wear version starts. The design of the skin in this state acquires slight abrasions. The float value from 0.15 is the Field-Tested version, which is characterized by more significant abrasions. Connoisseurs of visually attractive skins are recommended to choose BOOM in a float value of up to 0.08.

AWP | BOOM Price & Market Value

AWP | BOOM is not a budget skin at all. Its history and popularity in the community make the skin's value quite understandable. Like other skins, the cost of BOOM depends on the degree of wear and the presence of the StatTrak function. The most affordable version — Field-Tested without StatTrak — can cost about $114 and with StatTrak — about $ 175. The price is already higher in Minimal Wear condition: about $ 129 without the counter and from $ 217 with it.

The most visually attractive and expensive version of AWP | BOOM is the Factory New version, which costs about $ 335 without frag counter support. The same skin but with StatTrak support costs about $ 632. Bright visual style and rarity make AWP | BOOM not only a beautiful, but also an investment-attractive skin.

Why Is AWP | BOOM So Popular?

With AWP | BOOM, it’s easy to stand out from the crowd, as the skin is bright orange with comic-style “BOOM” accents. The skin’s long history and player interest in it add to BOOM’s popularity.

AWP | BOOM goes well with comic-style, explosion-themed stickers and charms, such as Chabo, Nelu the Bear, Rekt (Holo), Retro Zeus, Robo, and other visually vibrant and dynamic elements. Players also like to pair this skin with gloves in rich colors, such as red, orange, or black, such as Sport Gloves | Scarlet Shamagh, Moto Gloves | Blood Pressure, Hand Wraps | Desert Shamagh, Specialist Gloves | Crimson Web, Specialist Gloves | Tiger Strike, Hand Wraps | Slaughte, and Drew.

With its recognizable design and versatility for customization, the AWP | BOOM remains popular with both collectors and players looking to stand out on the server.

What Is the Souvenir AWP | BOOM

In Counter-Strike 2, Souvenir skins commemorate specific pro matches and feature gold stickers representing events and player autographs. However, there is no Souvenir version for the AWP | BOOM in CS2 (CS:GO). While some pro players have applied rare stickers to their personal AWP | BOOM skins, an official Souvenir drop or variant for this skin does not exist in either CS:GO or CS2. The CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | BOOM therefore is only available in standard and StatTrak™ versions, not as a Souvenir collectible.

Famous Players & Streamers with AWP | BOOM

Over the years, several well-known esports professionals and streamers have been seen with the AWP | BOOM in their inventories, including legendary players like GeT_RiGhT and allu. Notable content creators such as Anomaly and McSkillet have showcased the AWP | BOOM in YouTube and Twitch videos, further increasing its popularity. The skin's bold design has made it a fan-favorite pick for highlight montages and clutch play moments, influencing its continued demand in the community and maintaining its place as one of the game’s most iconic early AWP skins.

How to Get a AWP | BOOM

There are several ways to become the owner of AWP | BOOM in CS2. One of them is to try to get the skin by opening the eSports 2013 Case. However, this method comes with serious drawbacks. The chance of getting a skin with the Classified rarity is only about 3.2%, and since there are two skins of this rarity in the case, the odds of pulling the AWP | BOOM are cut in half. In addition, the cost of the case itself is quite high, around $70–$80, and to open it, you need to buy a key, which can cost up to $20. This makes the process very expensive and extremely risky, as you can spend a significant amount of money without ever receiving the desired skin.

Another way to obtain CS2 (CS:GO) AWP | BOOM is through trade-up contracts, but this option also has its downsides. To try it, you need to have several valuable skins of a lower rarity level, which already requires a considerable investment. Even then, the result is completely random, and there is no guarantee that you will receive the AWP | BOOM. One unsuccessful attempt means losing all the skins you put into the contract, which makes this method a gamble with high chances of disappointment.

The most reliable and profitable method is to buy AWP | BOOM directly on the Steam Market or trusted third-party platforms like Skin.Place. Steam Market prices are usually higher, and commissions take a portion of your funds. On Skin.Place, purchases are often more cost-effective thanks to regular discounts and bonuses, with little to no commission fees. In addition, the platform frequently hosts giveaways where you can win an AWP | BOOM or other premium skins for free, adding extra value for users. This method is safe, transparent, and eliminates the risk of wasting money on random drops, giving you a guaranteed way to add the legendary AWP | BOOM to your inventory instantly.

Final Thoughts for Collectors and Players

AWP | BOOM is a true standout in the CS2 world, bringing vibrant energy and bold style to any inventory.
